We hired Avalon accounting to catch up on 2 years of business taxes after our prior accountant ran into family issues. At first it seemed like we were in good hands, but then I quickly noticed that I had more knowledge than the accountant who handled our file. Anyways he ended up quiting and then we were switched to one of the owner who handled our work. The process took a very long time, 6 months. We were happy with the service until we discovered that Avalon made us overpay the CRA by nearly 20,000$, it took us 8 months to recover that money ( Many phone calls later) Also as we were ready to continue using them, we were told that they would not be able to provide service to us as they were short staff. The funny thing is, a week later I see an email coming from the other owner saying that were accepting new customers, which didnt seem right. We paid A LOT of money to avalon to get the work done, they are very expensive compared to other accounting firms we have used. We were quick to provide any and all information needed, and for what we paid, we received poor service. Our new accountant spotted many errors in their work as well, which came as a surprise. If you are going to charge top rates, we expect top service. Sadly that wasnt the case.
