BeaverTails - Queues de Castor (The Boardwalk, Waterloo)

The first time I tried BeaverTails I was in Montreal and it was pretty good, so I wanted to try this location now opened. I got the Coco Vanil and my sister got the Avalanche. I'm so disappointed, the Beavertail dough was lacking in flavour, pale in colour (unlike the one I had previously in Montreal), it did not have a nice texture and the toppings were not good: the chocolate syrup was watered down in flavour and not pleasant in flavour as it didn't taste like chocolate and the cookie topping was weird flavoured and textured pebbles; though I can say, the icing that was delicious. I rarely dislike something to the point of not being able to finish it but this was one of those times. For the Avalanche my sister was also unhappy with the BeaverTail dough but said all of her toppings were good, she finished hers but with regret, overall not a good experience. If I went again I'd want to try other items but I would not go for a BeaverTail itself. I think for beavertails we are going to stick with the local market, they have our favourite one, as often mom n pop shops have the best food.

Had to stop by when I saw an actual storefront opened, I love Beaver tails. My son was super excited to ring the bell inside.

We bought 2 Beaver Bites at Beavertails. They were really good--well cooked, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. 100% recommend. We will try another menu soon.

Staff seem untrained. Waited 5 minutes for the women to figure out how to apply the coupons. Language barrier for was an issue but overall the staff very kind staff and friendly. The beaver Tails tasted great

Not impressed about this location. Not sure why but even the dough tasted different. We have had beavertails in many places. Best ones in ottawa by the byward market in the food truck. These ones here did not taste that good. A bit too much oil flavour too. Service was slow and the place packed.

My daughter order from here through Urber Eats, we got two apple pie ones and a lemonade. It took over an hour for delivery and both apple pies were ice cold and tough and the lemonade was warm and so gross. I will not be ordering from here again and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

Happy to finally have a store in the area. Nice variety and friendly staff.

Been here a few times since open - prices are great, food is great, staff is friendly!! Never had to wait more than 10-15mins during their busiest times - and the indoor atmosphere is amazing. They’ve also got a little sink inside to wash up after the yummy mess :)

So excited to have this favourite of ours right here in Waterloo! We used to get this every time on a trip to Niagara falls or Ottawa! Love everything on the menu - you can’t go wrong with any choice but our favourite is the Hazelnut Amour.Clean, new store with an attentive owner and courteous staff.

Short line-up to place an order, and about 10 to 15-minute wait to receive it. The store is big and there's enough room for those who are waiting for their orders. I hope they can also add a few tables and chairs (or bench) in the future, so customers can sit while waiting. We picked the top 3 flavors on the menu, and they all tasted great, even if left at room temp for a few hours. I will definitely be back to try the other items on their menu.
