This is my preferred store as they carry a number of items I can't seem to find elsewhere in my immediate area and have a great deli counter with good options, but I have noticed the prices are a little higher than at other places for certain items, such as Natural Rye bread.Still, I would recommend this as a quality downtown grocer.

If you live downtown -- do not forget about this store. They have excellent products -- produce/meats everything you need. No need to drive elsewhere for most things. They have it and great prices.this is a great grocery store. prices are excellent, produce dept is clean and well stocked. meats are excellent. deli products fresh daily. a gem.

To All Innocent Winnipeg Shoppers This Is To Inform The Public That The Owner Of Family Foods (Kevin) Is Dishonest And Abusive To The Staff Members He Employs. He Threatened To Throw Anyone Who Leaves A Milk Crate In Any Aisle Out The Front Store Window. The Guy Seems To Think That Because He Owns An Independent Grocery Store He Can Be Abusive And Threatening. He PROMISES A Christmas Bonus And Then Doesn't Deliver On His Word. WHY Would ANYONE Want To Support A Liar And An Abusive Employer ? I Have Been A Loyal Customer Of Family Foods For 16 Years. NOW That I Have Witnessed The Behind The Scenes Horror Show I Will NEVER Shop There Ever Again !!!! GO Somewhere Else To Buy Your Groceries ! His Sale Prices Are More Expensive Than Most Grocers Regular Prices. DISHONEST And ABUSIVE !

Large selection of goods awesome fresh cut lunch meats & ground beef and pork for the BBQ. Large vegetable section as soon as you walk in fresh as you can get in the downtown area. Friendly staff know where everything is, a great asset to the area...

I recently used the Downtown Food Fare to cater a 60 person event. From the phone consultations to menu plan, delivery and execution I could not be happier with the results. The sandwiches, salads, fruit and veggie platters were fresh, tasty and exactly what we were looking for. We have had many positive comments and will continue to pass their name along to others.
