Myrt's Family Restaurant
A clean place, but under staffed, so tables took a bit longer to be bussed than normal. We had usual breakfast fare, eggs, bacon, hash browns. Hash browns were a 6/5, being the best I've ever had, crispy outside, tender and cooked inside.

Had the chicken fried steak" which was a nice hand battered fried chicken breast with mushroom gravy. My brother had the liver and onions and my Mom had a sandwich. The food was good. The service was on the slow side because just one waitress was working when we went in. Atmosphere is a bit divey. Far better than stopping at just another Tim Hortons."

Had the Canadian pizza and it was fantastic! Fresh made dough, fresh mushrooms and actual bacon! Server was great as well, would come back again for sure. Prices were very fair and portions were generous.

Great stop when snowmobiling through Mattawa.Buffalo chips are unique to Myrt's and always a good choice. Friendly staff and big parking lot.

Poutine was great, fried curds were a bit over done but good, mushroom caps were good, Italian soup was good. As for the Reuben it was all bread and toppings and like one slice of meat. Very disappointed with the sandwich.

Have stopped here quite a few times on the way through mattawa. It's a great sit down meal with bang for your buck. The breakfast is great. A favorite of mine is the Canadian panserotti. The Canadian has a better balance of flavors than the all meat one which has too much ham for my liking.

Exactly what you'd expect from a small town family diner. Servings of peameal bacon in our breakfast was delightfully generous. Quaint and chill.
