Fort Garry Fire Trucks - Fire Apparatus Manufacturer

We have 3 Fort Garry engines. They are decent, but expect issues after delivery. 2 of them had electrical issues and the other had a foam system leak and non functional electronic intake valves.

My fire company spent countless hours (and years) researching manufactures to replace a fire engine. None of the dealers would listen to our ideas and wanted to put us in their cookie cutter trucks and not build what we were looking for. Fort Garry was given our idea and almost immediately came back with the truck we had pictured in our minds! After a trip to FDIC to compare truck manufacturers, Fort Garry was buy far the best quality body. The detail to workmanship and design is second to none. After taking delivery and utilizing the truck it far outperforms every other truck in our fleet, especially in extreme weather conditions! If you’re looking for one tough truck, look no further!

I'm back home to Nova Scotia after a whirlwind trip to Ft Garry Fire Trucks in Winnipeg. The hospitality shown to me over the 2 days was amazing. I can't say enough about Adam Baldwin and Laura Scherza, they made the process of this build more painless than I could have ever hoped for. From day one right through the last 13 months they were a constant wealth of knowledge and I like to say became more than business associates. They became friends. Thank you so much you two and thank you Ft Garry Fire Trucks for building an amazing quality truck, that will serve East River Valley for many years.

I have emailed in twice in the last six weeks requesting a call back or email to spec out a new engine for my department. I do not get any follow up, replies, phone calls Fort Garry. Makes my decision easier taking this company out of the equation. They did the same to a neighboring department. Did the original spec then dropped off the face of the Earth. Since they make enough money that they don't need mine they probably don't need yours either..

One of the best fire apparatus builder sites around. Nice to see new orders coming and going through the build process. As a retired firefighter I've had the pleasure of working on/with Fort Garry apparatus. As a Canadian fire apparatus historian it's appreciated that FGI includes the serial number on most of the new builds usually on the windshield. If possible, it would be nice if a spec sheet/drawings were included for each new delivery to show chassis model/GPM/tank/foam tank etc. Just my thoughts and wishes. Recently received our rescue unit from Fort Garry that’s now in service in the Viking area. The whole process went well from getting the specifications down to what we wanted to the end delivery of the unit. It has been great the little use we have made of it so far and have encountered no issues. Everyone was great to work with and worked hard to meet our needs or wants. Would recommend reaching out if need of a rescue vehicle

High Style recently produced Fort Garry Fire Trucks' 100th Anniversary profile magazine. It was a pleasure working with FGFT and their staff on this special piece. This is the third time over 15 years we have worked with them on one of these company profile magazines and it's always an amazing experience. Their team is great at what they do and with 100 years of experience, it's no wonder! Their professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge of the industry is second to none. Their facility is also a sight to see! It's a stunning building and if you get a chance to tour around the location, you'll see how organized and efficiently everything is run.

Just over 23 years ago I contacted Fort Garry Fire Trucks about helping with a proposal for a new Pumper for our Department. Brad Petrie from Fort Garry worked diligently with me to develop the RFP and his assistance helped me identify the needs we had as a department and translate them into features on our new truck. That truck was delivered in May of 2001 and has served our department well since. I have continued to be in contact with Brad at Fort Garry since and they have stood behind the truck they delivered on many occasions when needed. Recently we began looking into replacing our 2001 Pumper and have been fortunate enough to be able to select FGFT as the successful bidder to supply us with our next new pumper. Once again Brad has been instrumental in helping with the project as well as our sales Rep Chris Pilek. I am looking forward to seeing this newest truck delivered this coming May, twenty two years after our last truck. FGFT is a solid company that builds a great truck designed for the tough environments we experience here in Canada.
