Groom That Dog

If I could give 0 stars I would. We had the most horrific experience with Groom that Dog. Our Goldendoodle was slightly overdue for a groom, but he wasn't terribly matter or anything. When we picked him up he was shaved down just about to the skin and was BLEEDING in about a dozen places all over this body. They said he was super well behaved, so I don't think this was his fault in any way. One of his cuts abscessed and resulted in a $1000 vet bill for us. I wrote to tell them what happened and left a voice message and they never responded, did not offer to refund my grooming bill, nothing. Absolutely awful.

My very shaggy puppy came out looking like a whole new dog. Better yet he was quite happy. I wasn’t sure he wanted to leave the place where he had so much fun. Thank you so much for the great job you did on Rocky.

Caring, Compassionate & Capable - Janet and her team has been caring for our beloved dog for years and can make sharp and chic her curly Golden Doodle coat.The proof of how good this salon is comes not only from how good our beauty looks when she leaves, tail wagging, but how wagging her tail is when she realizes she's going in for a grooming. To her, grooming appointments are always fun and she leaves us at the gate to the salon, not looking back, clearly happy to have some spaw-time" for herself.We cannot recommend Groom That Dog enough."

There is a pattern to the reviews for this group. Several are positive but with a rating of 3 stars, many are not. Unfortunately, it is not possible to give a negative score. We dropped our puppy off at 10 AM and the grooming was not complete until 6 PM; 8 hours in a strange place, no food, water but no bathroom break. This is a pattern that is repeated. If you call requesting an update you are scolded for interrupting them and you are charged more. If you think that they care about you or your opinion you are wrong. You are a nuisance to them. It is a shame that there are not more groomers in this part of the Island; this place would be out of business in a month.

I am new to Sidney ... moved from Alberta.Janet came recommended by a couple of coworkers so I called and booked a Saturday appointment! Today was the day ! My little Chewy (12 year old Bichon) has very sensitive skin and suffers from anxiety too. Janet was amazing... she welcomed both of us. She used “sensitive products “ and was very kind to him. Another compliment I’d like to give is: he was perfectly clean ( not full of other dog hair, for I have major allergies and it’s always a problem for me) I usually have to bath chewy after the groomer- but not today! Thank you Janet !!!

Each time we have taken our dog here it has been an excellent experience. You can tell the staff truly love dogs and are working their butts off to get your pooch looking good.I never leave reviews, but I was shocked to see the 1 star comments and wanted to share my positive experience!Our dog has never rushed to use the washroom after pickup (I was told he was let outside). I was told in advance he’d be there for most of the day, and that works for me.You can trust your pet with this company.

After I moved to Sidney a few months ago, a friend recommended his dogs' groomer of over 10 years, Groom-that-dog, to me. My two dogs, two Mini/Medium Goldendoodles, age 9 and 10, were excited to see me, yet relaxed, when I came to pick them up and the care and attention to their specific details they received was wonderful. Janet was as lovely in person as she was on the phone, always responded right away to texts and calls, and I have no idea what may have prompted the negative comments left by other people. She seems to have the dogs' well-being in mind first and foremost and I already booked my next appointment. Thank you, Janet, I am happy and grateful and the doggos are snoozing right next to me, happy and content.

We love the service we get from Janet and her staff at “Groom that Dog”..We drive out from Oak Bay every 6 weeks to get our Standard Poodle groomed. They are very responsive to our grooming requests. And Piper always looks/smells and feels fabulous. Poodles are a lengthy appointment and we feel very comfortable and are impressed by the sensitivity and compassion shown for our pet.

(This was my first visit to their shop) I am shocked to read any negative comments and frankly I suggest you take these comments with a grain of salt . I have a 6 yr old Springer Spaniel. Janet and Trish took unbelievable care of her. Kept her all day so I could get shopping done as I live off island. I usually get her groomed every 3 months but due to Covid she looked like a bear because I couldn’t travel. She looked amazing!!!!!! when I picked her up. I give them a 5/5 on all levels including Customer Service. Feel free to question my enthusiasm but you would be missing out if you don’t give them a try.
