Angel of Hope Animal Rescue/ANOKA

We adopted our sweet cat Dash (who we met at Petsmart) through Angel of Hope. The process was easy and Dash is wonderful kitty and so glad he is part of our family.

Adopted my beloved dog Clyde from this organization and I can’t say enough good things. He’s our absolute joy! The process of adopting was great as well. The fosters really understood if he was ready and we’re so incredibly helpful preparing us.Can’t thank them enough!

If adopting with this agency, please also be aware of the other low rating reviews. Echoing other peoples warnings, AOH adopted out a kitten with pre-existing conditions without any warning. Not knowing when I received my kitten, she inevitably got my current cats sick, as well. This has been incredibly stressful and concerning, especially since AOH is not owning up to their actions and severely lacking communication. The only response I have received from them is to “return the cat for a refund minus a $25 processing fee”… like com’on, not only is that not a solution but these agency of all people should realize that a commitment is made and that is not the right answer.All I am asking is to rightfully reimburse the cats medical bills as their contract clearly states, “Adopter is encouraged to have this pet checked by a licensed Veterinarian within fourteen days of the adoption at their own cost. If adopter does not have pet checked by a licensed Veterinarian within two weeks of adoption, nothing will be considered a pre-existing condition and Angel of Hope will not be held liable or responsible for any veterinary costs.” For me, the financial aspect isn’t the main issue, but AOH needs to be held accountable for their mistakes as this has changed my life drastically. I recommend searching elsewhere for the sake of your future pets as AOH are a liability.

We advise you to avoid Angel of Hope. Our family adopted Raven (a cat) in December of 2021. The medical history provided by AoH indicated she had been spayed but we later suspected this was not done correctly as months later she exhibited signs of being in heat. Our vet agreed that this warranted a closer look; tests indicated estrogen activity and advised a spay procedure. After the operation the vet informed us that Raven had no spay operation of any kind and was 'fully functional.' AoH has been contacted a number of times and basically we are ignored or told it's not their problem, and we are out about $900 in unexpected (and should have been unnecessary) vet bills.

I was able to adopt a precious bengal today. Megan was very helpful, efficient, and made the process quick and easy. We absolutely love our newest family member!!
