it is fun reading many reviews. Some claims that the broth has no taste. Oh well, it is very simple type of chicken broth, these people look for salty Shio or Shoyu ramen, they just come to the wrong place. The world of Ramen is huge, there are many types/style of ramen, open your heart please.Ramen is a everyday food, not a fine dining Michelin-star type of cuisine. If diner really know how the Chasu is prepared, it shouldn’t surprise them if it is cold. Apparently, they don’t know. They might prefer the shop microwave the chasu abit before serving i supposed? If u want a warmer chasu, just soak it into the soup and u will get warm chasu. To me, the broth is right at its balance, Chasu is properly made. Noodle is cooked a little bit too soft to me though.Tamago (egg) is well prepared as well.So overall it is not bad at all. It is not GREAT, but not bad at all.

The food was absolutely delicious and tasted very authentic, which is always a plus in my book. And the prices were more than reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant made for a great dining experience, and the staff were some of the friendliest and most accommodating. One thing that really impressed me was that the default tip was 12%, which speaks volumes about the integrity of the restaurant. They don't push customers to pay ridiculous high tips, which is a refreshing change from many other places I've been to. I definitely plan on coming back more than once! (actually, I've already visited this place more than five times)That being said, it's important to note that during peak hours (such as holidays and dinner times), the wait time can range from 15-45 minutes. But despite this, they still accept larger parties and the washroom is conveniently located and well-maintained.The only downside that I noticed is that the food can be a bit salty for some, ask for some water to drink. However, this is a minor issue and shouldn't deter anyone from trying out this amazing restaurant.Additionally, there is free parking available at the rear, although it can be hard to find a spot during busy times. But don't let that discourage you from checking this place out - it's definitely worth it!All in all, I would highly recommend this ramen joint to anyone looking for a tasty and affordable meal.

I had their limited time special Miso Ramen and it was amazing. The flavours were rich, the noodles were perfect and the food was delivered quickly! I was especially happy with the service from the staff as they were friendly and very attentive. If you are in the area, please stop in and give them a try!

Love the creamy chicken broth! It’s so rich and warms the tummy! The thin noodles are soft and absorb the flavours of the broth. Both the miso ramen and the chashu tamago ramen were packed with meaty flavour and of good quality. Very good ramen and reminds me of Japan. There are shakers of chilli flakes and sesame on the tables you can use to top your ramen.

Very mediocre. Best part of the experience was the food and even that was only average; everything is under seasoned, ordered extra menma for my soup which was brought first to table before everything else (why not just add it to the soup? or bring it all together). There is no salt at the table but instead a mysterious clear liquid labeled salty sauce" which seems to be salt+water? Never seen this before anywhere

Like others, I've driven past the Kingsway location maaany times on weekends and always a line up outside. Living so far from Santouka in Vancouver, I have been missing a really great bowl of ramen. Sadly I still am. We were greeted and seated immediately (6pm weeknight), and were offered tea or water. Our order was taken within 10min and we were asked if we had food allergies (very considerate). I ordered the miso chasu ramen and it came quite soon after. They do not allow for substitution unfortunately, so if you don't like a specific ingredient, you're still paying. The broth was ok, while I'm not a super ramen connoisseur, there as nothing special about this. It was warm, not hot, not too salty, not too rich. I also ordered a cider. With tip, paid ~$31. While I'm glad I finally tried this place, and it was ok, for the money I would go elsewhere. I will also add that the staff were nice enough, the restaurant clean, and not too loud despite being full when we left. They could also use some kid friendly options (size and variety). If you are driving, you will most likely have to pay for parking or take a trek, or both.

Broth is excellent and meat is tasty. This is an above average ramen. However, the menu is a little limited (only chicken broth, one noodle type, few side dishes), and they never refill your water. Been here a few times and experienced the same problem - couldnt even get servers attention to receive more than the inital cup. The food is quite salty so people are apt to become thirsty...are they trying to save money on water service??

Their service were really great! Staff were polite, ambience were nice and cozy. Menu is limited with little to no customisation. I took a veg curry ramen and iI liked it! The creamy and coconut taste was strong in broth so if you are someone who dont’ prefer non-meat and overly strong creamy taste in your broth, then better to skip! There is just one no meat option for veg or vegan preferred folks!

When you cannot travel out to Japan, I would have a bowl of this ramen anytime. Line up was quick. Their draft beer was one of the reason I frequented. This spot was not crowded and seating was comfortable. I felt like I was in Tokyo for a good 45min as the servers spoke in Japanese to each other. The broth is porky for Shoyu Ramen. Chasu and noodles were excellent in taste. I think ramen is very personal. Either you are looking for a particular taste or a clear/ milky broth. Omelette was perfect and eggy. I like the crunch in the gyoza. For me, overall service with a smile and good food = 5 stars. Ganbate Maruhachi!
