Almosthome Childcare Preschool Ltd

I wanted to share my experiences at Almost Home Goldstream infant and toddler location. I left a separate review for the Luxton preschool location on Marwood.Overall the center and staff are amazing. Our 1.5 yr old son never had issues on drop off and always loved walking in on his own in the mornings. We found working with Rhonda in head office great as she was prompt in replies and clear in communication.Due to Covid we never could see the inside of the facility so the quality of the facility isn't part of this review.The only issue we had is a fundamental disagreement with their sick policies. Their policies are more stricter than what BC Island health policies state, even as new science develops and new policies are released the daycare policies stayed strict. I just wanted to make a point for future parents to make sure their expectations align here.Our personal view is infants/toddlers will get sick for variety of reasons and more important is that it is fundamental for them to keep being exposed for their immune system to develop. Expecting children to be 100% symptom free to be in attendance we felt was unreasonable and caused majority of days to be at home than in care (regardless of any Covid test).

Almosthome Mount Newton is an amazing place for kids to learn and grow. The staff are amazing and really get the kids excited and engaged about the subjects they are learning about. Yoga and Karate classes, visits to the senior centre to visit their senior buddies" are all awesome things the kids look forward to each week."

Look carefully over the contract you sign before you go here. Did you notice that there are very few negative reviews for this daycare? Well there's a reason for that. Your contract states that you can kicked with with no reimbursement of monies paid out if you write a negative review.As noted in the response by the owner, we were finally given a refund but only after being bullied by management and agreeing to remove our honest and critical review. Also as noted by the owner, we were called multiple times during the work week to pick up our son within an alloted hour, sometimes this happened only an hour after drop off, leaving us paying for childcare that we were not able to access. The reasons provided ranged from too needy" to "too rambunctious". We had to pay for babysitters to fill in the gaps left by Almost home in addition to paying our fees in order to keep our jobs."

My son went to Almosthome childcare at Goldstream, and we're lucky to have found Almosthome childcare for my son. He loved going to daycare, and seeing all the teachers. They spend a decent amount of time outdoors as they have their own playground with big yard and fence. I liked it a lot as it is safe for young kids. Also, they do a lot of activities and share photos in Facebook group. I would say Almosthome childcare is the best out of 4 daycares that we experienced for my 2 sons.

We feel incredibly lucky to have both our kids at Almosthome. One is in the infant/toddler group, other in preschool group - both are always eager to go there every morning. The teachers are amazing and the programming is diverse and non-repetitive. The facility itself is great too - lots of space, toys and nice playgrounds.

Almost home has been a great daycare for my son. He has a good time with his teachers and friends while there. They have always been friendly and helpful with everything. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for great affordable child care.

The activities and program planning at AlmostHome is excellent...providing the children with so many fun learning experiences! The staff are incredibly kind and patient with the children and the centre has a warm, loving feeling to it.

Our family has had a fantastic experience at Almost home infant centre and mosaic preschool at the tillicum location. Our daughters are 1.5 and 3.5. We found the infant centre to be warm, nurturing and the teachers really helped our youngest with the transition into daycare. The teachers have been helpful, loving and very understanding. They even got Holly a birthday gift when she turned one, after only being at the centre for a few weeks.Our oldest loves the preschool! We have been at a few different centres prior to finding almost home and I can say she is genuinely happy and eager to go. They have many different activities/outings that keep things fresh and fun.The only negative, which I think is inevitable with the childcare situation in Victoria, is that there has been staff turn around.Overall a wonderful facility with exceptional staff!

Our son has been at Almost Home on Tillicum since he was two. He is now about to head off to kindergarten, and we couldnt be happier with our daycare/preschool experience. Almost Home is so well managed, and always has really great staff. The programming is outstanding and the preschool program is perfect (play focused but still really makes sure the kids are ready for kindergarten). We highly recommend Almost Home!

My daughter loves Almosthome Childcare! The staff are all encouraging and caring and not demanding or high maintenance. The kids get a ton of outside time and free play which is perfect for their age group, and a good amount of scheduled activities/art. The space is clean and safe. We drive way out of our way for this centre, but it's worth it.
