Went in for new ski boots, and turns out I have very difficult feet to fit. Ended up with 2 staff members helping me out, trying many different types of boots before finding a perfect fit. I really appreciated all the help and the time taken, you don't get that in the big box stores!

Hi there,I had a tech binding (alpine Touring) to mount on my skis. I was at first sceptical to bring my skis at Source for sports since they’re not a specific only ski shop. And since I wanted to have my skis mount professionally and without any mistakes it wasn’t my first choice. However, with the bindings I had (atomic backland tour) this shop was the only one in town (Kamloops) that was able to mount them and I needed my skis soon... so decided to bring my skis and unfortunately immediately regretted it.After picking up my skis mounted with the bindings I realized two big major errors that any ski technicians shouldn’t do. But human error happens.The first one was the binding screws were not entirely inserted in the ski, and then uneven screw pressure can crack the metal binding base. When looking at the skis, I could see that the toe piece binding base plates were not snugged down onto the ski top. Screw jacking occurs when an inattentive mounting technician tightens screws, and while doing so doesn’t notice the screw threads catching on the binding plate and “jacking” it up off the ski top.Second error: Improper boot length adjustmentWhy can this be deadly? Wrong adjustment makes accidental release more likely, or even a given.The amounts of space between the boot heel and the binding (known as the “tech gap”) was totally off!!Since I knew how much heel gap I needed for these specific bindings (4mm) I got out my screwdriver and adjust it. Presumably I did not know the specification well the shop could have injured my knee really bad! Adding to that, the shop is selling the exact same bindings so their technicians should know all of that, but unfortunately looks like they didn’t know!Thank youThat’s it for today, hopefully this review will tell you why you should indeed trust your skis only to a TOP ski shop!

My sons and I love shopping at Dolson’s. The customer service is amazing. The staff is personable, attentive and knowledgeable. They never try and upsell you. I love how they put the shoes on my kids feet and can tell me how well they fit. Their prices are completely comparable to big box sports stores. We won’t buy runner or sports related gear anywhere else again!

Incredible service. Ended up buying much more than I expected because I truly felt like a valued customer. This type of service is rarely available these days, and this company provided it in spades.

this store is really great! Super friendly and family owned and operated. Hats off to Phil and family. Every time I go in there they remember me and like to chat. I've spent hours in here talking getting help finding the right gear for my family's skiing addiction. They really know there stuff just like the commercials say! I haven't been disappointed with anything I've bought. Buy your sports gear from here. There local support our community. And just great people in generalI'm not sure what people mean about problems with returns. Me and my wife accidently purchased items two sizes to big for her and they took it back no problem.

On boxing day I asked about ski goggle sales and the associate showed me ones that were on sale on the counter for 30% off. There were other more expensive goggles in glass cases that had no advertising of a sale. I bought a pair of goggles that were 30% off and found that the lens is too dark when I got home looking through normal light. The lights at the store were very bright so it was hard to tell.I went back the following day to exchange the goggles for different ones. The same goggles I bought were still on sale with 30% off signs next to them. I decided to try some higher end goggles in the glass cases and found ones I liked because they came with both a dark lense and a lighter lens so i knew they would work for me. The associate told me the ones in the glass case were 15% off yesterday only. There were not any signs stating this yesterday and I was only shown the ones on the counter as being on sale when I asked about which goggles are on sale.I went to the counter to exchange my goggles that were too dark and wanted to buy the more expensive ones. The man at the till said it was not a problem and that he would exchange my current ones for the more expensive ones. I asked if the 15% discount could be applied as it wasn't displayed and I was not told about it when I asked about goggles that were on sale. The man said no. It seemed odd that the same sale wouldnt be on because the same sale on everything was still going there the following day. Even my 30% off goggles were still 30% off. I asked if there was anything that could be done to get the 15% price from yesterday and the man seemed got angry then said, you know what

Last week I decided to take up running. To do so I needed to go purchase running shoes and the quality at Walmart is not ideal for this type of activity.I stopped in here and the gentleman that assisted me was fantastic. He asked good questions to determine my current skill level and foot type to help me find a good pair of shoes.He had me try one of each of my top 2 choices on at the same time so I could feel the differences, then had me put on the complete pair of my top choice.I spent more on shoes and running socks than I ever have before but felt zero buyer's remorse because of the knowledge, care and attention I got.No question I'll shop here again and refer people to the store.
