Shield Investment Property Management

Advised us on a price, signed a contract with us and then left. Had poor communication for 3 weeks. Wasn't able to to get our listing on MLS after days of saying it was coming. Then dropped us as a client stating she couldnt get the price she advised us on. There was no communication, just dropped us a client weeks before we were set to leave the country. DO NOT USE!

I had an incredible experience with Shield and can't say a bad word. Sheri was very quick to respond and rectify any issues that came up and extremely professional and easy to work with. Sheri also supported me to move out under tight timelines and made the process very easy. Dream property manager. Highly recommend.

After several attempts to reach out via email, text and phone call I've heard nothing back about the unit I was interested in renting. This is a very unprofessional company". I understand that people get busy but I feel the least anyone deserves is a "sorry I can't help you right now" or "the unit has been rented" but I've had nothing but silence. Don't waste your time with these people."

My experience with Shield took an ugly turn and I can't recommend them. Their staff is not professional and they employ people who lie. I waited for one of their associates for over 2 hours and he claimed he had been there at the time we were supposed to meet. When the tenants moved out Sheri claimed that the unit was very clean and only needed a wipe down. When I went into the unit, it was clear that the tenants had not cleaned the kitchen in a long time as it was covered in a thick coat of grease. Since I had terminated my services with them the moment the person lied to me and made me wait 2 hours they claimed there was nothing they could do. Sheri also lied about having my property up on MLS and communication was always lacking.

Sheri and her team rented out my condo for 3 years always collected money for it but never followed up with the condition of my condo. When I decided to sell my condo, I had $4000 in repair bill for the floors. Sheri offered to collect the money from the tenant after I paid the tenant last months rent. Sheri will never support the property owner she will only look after her paying tenants. I advise to look elsewhere for a property manger that will actually care for your property.Response to your Response.I did live in Toronto for the last 35 years, I did move South East not West. Yes you did rent out my condo in North York and did a very poor job at it with your hired help.

Sheri and her team at Shield are a fantastic property management organization in the GTA and I've been a super happy client for over 4 years!! Sheri does a fantastic job managing tenant relationships, rent collection, and any repairs / issues in a timely and cost effective manner. I truly appreciate Sheri's expertise in property management and ability to deliver viable solutions for any situation whether simple or complex. If you're looking for a property management company, I highly recommend Shield 100%!

STOP STOP STOP !!Please stay away from this company and owner Sheri if you want your house be safe and you wanted stress free life.They do fraud with owners by allowing any unauthorized occupants to the property without notifying owner. Extremely unprofessional and abusing communication if you ask question to them.I wish I could have given zero or negative starts.

I was referred to Shield property management and have not regretted this referral at all!! Sheri the owner contacted me and very professionally spend ample time with me explaining the advantages of her company’s service and what they will do to ensure peace of mind to me as a landlord.Definitely will recommend Shield to look after your investment as a landlord!!!!

EDIT: they’re saying they have no leads with my name. Please see screenshots of my text, zumper request and phone call. You can clearly see a time stamp from when Sheri (the person whose cellphone you’re prompted to call, and who asks you to text for a faster response in her voicemail message). Pictures don’t lie, at least have some transparency to admit your communication is severely lacking, or work to improve your “system”.Found a place on Zumper that I wanted to view; I called and left a voicemail and texted “for a quicker response”, no one got back to me. Submitted a request through Zumper, hoping it would help, never heard back. And now the place I wanted to see is rented. Super disappointing.

Feel compelled to leave a review so that no one else has the experience I did leaving my most valuable asset in the hands of Sheri and her company. Worked abroad and returned to find my home was illegally sublet and thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of damage. Inspections were obviously not done. On top of that they were permitted to leave taking every fixture and item they could. Bare minimum effort was made to transition the house back to me and communication which had been sparse throughout now became non-existent. I think the communication is the worst part of it, things happen and can be overcome, but no apologies, no remorse. Just bad business.
