South Hall Banquet & Wedding Palace Ltd

The venue is very pretty and we saw many good reviews. However, our experience was not the best. First of we paid for 100 people and the day of our event there were only 70 chairs. This made us look terrible and it was extremely awkward for some of our guests. We had to show them the invoice and complain so they brought the missing 30 chairs and some more tables. However, the tables they brought didn't have table cloths and runners on and they didn't wrap the chairs. So we ended up having 70 wrapped chairs and a few tables with cloths and other chairs uggly gold tonnes and not wrapped. We had paid extra to have all the chairs wrapped and all tables with cloths and runners. This was very bad.The food took a very long time to come and some dishes came while many others took a long time. The pakore took so long guests were already done eating and they still hadn't come, then they brought very little and we had to complain again. We paid for drinks and they forgot to put them available to our guests. The bathroom was not cleaned properly and frequently to ensure it was presentable to our guests. On top of it all the kitchen is dirty and they have mice. Don't waste your money here better look for a different venue. The y didn't refund is for the chairs they didn't give and they didn't refund us for the drinks and food they never served. We deserve an apology for how bad this was. A few venues that we have used that are much better are either a hotel like the Pinaccle, the Fairmount, Aria, and the Granville Island salon as well as some golf courts. Save your money and don't get frustrated on your special day by working with this People. We never had such a bad experience before...

Celebrated many family weddings and functions here. Great hall, great value and great service. Love the new patio and bar area.

I had an after wedding ceremony Dinner with Drinks in the Cedar Sangeet room, and it was amazing. Rajan and Kuldip were so easy to work with and accommodating prior to the event. The room was decorated beautifully, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely come back and have more events at south Hall!

The hall itself was amazing! Very nice room and definitely lots of space! The location was not very nice though, and the carpet in the area before entering the hall looked a little gross and felt super spongy.

Rajan and his team are so responsive and are always available to answer any questions. Organizing my sangeet with them has been a pleasure and I would highly recommend hosting an event here. The space is beautiful and the food is so good!

Rajan and his team did such an amazing job. Our wedding was at the ubc boathouse.The food, presentation and service from all of the servers and bartenders was top notch and we received so many compliments from our guests about all of this. The staff was so helpful, attentive and polite. Of course the food was delicious and we really appreciate them packing up some for us to take home!We are very grateful for their help in making this the best day ever for us and our friends and family.
