A big shout out for Shio. After first time trying their deluxe combo and oshi combo, we immediately fell in love with their delicious fresh sushi.Very authentic and sashimi are very fresh. What's more is the price aren't as pricy compared with other sushi restaurant if you order their deluxe combo.The only downside is the take out soba beef noodle comes with the soup, unlike other restaurants separating the soup and noodle. When brought it home, the noodle tasted a bit soggy, but doesnt effect the taste too much and very flavorble. I like the light noodle soup, not greasy like ramen soup base. Highly recommended to order their beef soba noodle when going for dine in. Oshi sushi are another highly recommended dish. Love the combinations with the sauce. The only dish that I will be picky on is the tempura which I think it tasted too greasy. The taste of oil was too heavy when biting into the crispy batter.Overall food is amazing. We ordered take out, so we will probably go again to try their dine experience next time.

We got here 1 minute after 830pm and were turned away though we are regulars. Had to return the next day. Food is good but it did feel like portion for the Aburi sushi went down. I enjoy it though so will continue to patronize. A very no frill dining experience. One of the service staff deserves to be complimented as she came over to apologize that we had to be turned away the night before at 830pm and that she felt sorry.

Best sushi in Coquitlam! Have eaten here many times. Love their aburi sushi, sashimi and lunch board options. Egg bomb and avocado appetizers are fantastic. Service is always courteous and prompt.

This would have to be a 4/5 for me. Seating was instant and the food came really fast however some of the oshi items don’t have a full range of selection. The spicy salmon and salmon oshi that we ordered had really good texture and melted in our mouths like butter. The spicy mayo prawn was really flavourful and one of the best tasting tempura i’ve had. The one star missing would have to be from the beef kimchi udon. Was missing flavour and spice and was drenched in seasame oil.Would come back!

Go here regularly with friends and family. LOVE their churros. They have a variety of appetizers like chicken karage, fried shrimp, soup, karoke and many more!The selection of Sushi is smaller than other sushi restaurants, but frankly, I'm certainly not missing any flavours!5/5 Food.4/5 Service.5/5 Selection.

The presentation of the dishes is one of the best I have seen. I was quite surprised that what came to the table looked exactly like what it looks like on the menu. Not only does the food look awesome, the taste is fantastic too. I would recommend this place to anyone and would be back when I have a chance to do so too.

Update: Got Simple Oshi combo past weekend. Wow. The flavors. Amazing.Old Posts:Came in for dine-in, great friendly service and delicious food!Everything that's in the picture tasted incredible! Got Combo A, B, and Poke Combo.. Wow..Got lunch takeout for my mother's birthday and she was very happy!Highly recommend!

We found Shio online while looking for an impromptu, Friday night date location. It had great reviews so we decided to try it out. There was a bit of a line around 7pm. We waited for about 15 minutes.The menu had a ton of fantastic options and great meal sets. We decided to order and share the Egg Bomb, Spicy Mayo Prawn, Beef Kimichi Yakiudon and Simple Oshi Platter.The food was great and full of flavor. Our only complaint was that the oshi felt apart easily compared to other restaurants, but it still tasted great.The service was okay but the servers didn't seem to have assigned tables and were all over the place. At one point three different people brought the food, water and plates, but then we had to ask twice and wait 15-20 minutes for the bill.Overall we enjoyed Shio and we'll likely be back. If the service was more organized I'd have given a 5 star, but otherwise I highly recommend!

This is definitely a 10/10 Japanese restaurant. They serve authentic foods and the staff are very kind and always with smiles. The ginger-flavored shredded carrots on the side are very special, but perfectly matched with the beef don’s strong flavor. I’ll definitely come back for another meal.

Had a great lunch at Shio Japanese Kitchen. Cool vibe and brilliant food. The combo plates are incredible value and offer a little taste of on the menu.My favourite item on the menu is the egg bomb which was so good I forgot to take a picture off
