Been supporting them for years despite reservations. The women aren’t the best in customer service. During my last visits, one unfamiliar moody woman with glasses was extremely strongly opinionated about mask wearing, which was fine until she argued with me on masks and Covid spread (note I was wearing a mask and wore it into the store despite it not being mandatory anymore) and I didn’t go to hear her negative views. Another woman (optician I think with a Vietnamese accent) hasn’t been great either. She asked me why I have less insurance. Why does she need to know when it’s none of her f business since I’m the one whom pays regardless. Those are just two examples of poor service. I won’t get it if the rest right now.

I called about a small glasses repair and they told me it would be $10-15, which is already far cheaper than anything other places estimated. When I went in, they told me they wouldn't charge me, and only took a few minutes to do the repair. Very nice people, will definitely buy glasses from them next time.

I went in for a nose pad replacement the sweetest lady greeted me. She then seated me down and told me to wait a couple minutes, and in what felt like a few seconds she handed my glasses back to me all fixed! I asked her how much it was and she said “don’t worry about it ☺️“! AMAZING! They deserve every single five star review. As a broke Uni student, it meant everything to me :) Thank you!!

I stumbled upon the store by accident and from the very first time, the customer service from Tan and the team has exceeded my expectations and I now consider myself as an ambassador for Chinatown opticals. Their collection of glasses is fashion forward and I have been buying glasses from them for 10 years now. Truly amazing service and all my friends and family now buy glasses from them. Highly recommended!!!!

Old review from my Yelp:My Silhouette titanium eyeglass frames were bent, after a luggage fell on my face. I tried to fix them myself, but I iust made it worse. I checked online for retailers of Silhouette close by, and Chinatown Optical is one of the few ones which are open on a Sunday. Sent them an email asking if they can repair my frames, and they replied promptly. So I dropped by their shop the same day (today). As soon as I arrived, Annie assisted me. She informed me that there's a crack on my lens, and asked for my consent to attempt to adjust my frame. I agreed and she carefully managed to do the repair. I asked how much it costs for the service, and she just kindly replied that they do repairs for free (this is besides the fact that I did not purchase my frames from them).Besides the aforementioned, the shop carries a wide range of frames and lenses. Also, when I asked Annie how much it'd cost to have my lenses replaced, she checked my prescription and quoted me a cheaper rate than what I am paying now (which is also already less expensive than average).

Super quick, friendly service. The staff were very helpful, and picked out tons of great frames for me based on my preferences. Lots of selection and reasonable pricing!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL place to find new glasses/sunglasses and contacts. GREAT & CONVENIENT location .The owners and opticians are all super nice. When they're not slammed, they're really patient and take their time with you, so GO DURING NON-PEAK HOURS! Affordable, super high-quality, brand names and well made frames. Would come back here again for my next pair!

Great place and would definitely recommend! I went in to get some prescription and blue light glasses and tried on many pairs. I wasn’t certain about the colours of the ones they had in store so they tried their best to accommodate me by ordering in another frame in different colours for me to compare with. It was quick and I got to try them the week after. I was very impressed by this place given these difficult times. I’m glad they abide by covid rules and clean things very well. The service was impeccable and they always try to provide top notch assistance and advice! Prices were also reasonable and styles were up to date! I will definitely keep coming back!

Best and I mean THEE best optical in the city. Customer service is unmatched, warm and so helpful. 10/10
