Worst Indian food I have ever had in my life. Bad. Not sure how it gets a 4.1 rating. From an entire buffet, not a single item that I could say was worth eating. Unbelievably bad. Hard to believe that they have any positive reviews. Makes me wonder whether they are made up. This place should be shut down. Offensive.

My husband and I traveled from Toronto to Ottawa for the tulip festival. We were so tired and wanted good Indian food. They were ready to take our takeout order at 9.15 PM which is much appreciated. The order was ready in 10-15 minutes.The food was beyond excellent. The packaging was outstanding. Inclusion of salad, phirni (sweet) and papad added a special touch. The owner also included a few chocolates to make it more special for the last customer of the night. Overall my short experience with Light of India was great.I need to mention it was a bit on the pricier side. $73.51 for two people.My order included 2 garlic naans, 1 chicken Rogan Josh which came with white rice with green peas, and 1 Kashmiri pulav.

The food isn't you usual heavy, fat and salty Indian buffet at lunches like you would find anywhere else. Here they've put together a lovely, fresh, tasty offering but where you can tell vegetables appart with delicious meat and where vegetarian meals are even tastier.The service was impeccable but we were the only people in the restaurant for the special! Hard to believe.

Had a Fathers Day meal here. Food was absolutely delicious, even though they were super busy it arrived pretty quickly. Samosa appetizer for both of us, Chicken Korma for the boss and Lamb Vindaloo for me. Of course rice and garlic naan. All topnotch. Thanks very much Light of India; you are now on our Official Restaurants List.

Adore the food at this restaurant. I’m a vegetarian and I find that there’s a great selection of choices for me. My favourite dishes are chana bhuna and naan. The onion bhaji is also a nice appetizer. My husband is an omnivore and adores the chicken curry and naan bread. Owner and staff are pleasant.

My favourite Indian eat-in restaurant in Ottawa. The service is always friendly and they food is delicious. The waiter offered us some great advice in what to order. We ordered 4 mains, 1 rice and 1 naan between 3 people and were stuffed and had enough leftover for a lunch each. Highly recommend the dine-in or take out.

We hadn't been back in a while. I asked for it as my mother's day meal. I liked it a lot in the past when we lived closer. But if it was good then, it is so much better now. We will drive into town to enjoy it again.

I drove by and noticed their sign say 11.00 special for the buffet and we called just to ask for the hours and asked a few other questions concerning the price for child. (first off said, full price) & had to go back to ask boss and came to change their mind to-free. Which was great because no child that barley eats should have to pay full especially if you know how child are they eat rice only and fruit I under stand half price that's reasonable. Secondly, he said 19.99 for regular buffet to us over phone & we decided because we had just drive by it to go walk in and see food. I was quick to recognize that they had turned the 11.00 to 19.99 because the original marker they used was black and all they did was add lines to make it 19.99 in the color blue. I was like this place is not serious && they had like 8 options or less to choose from. That's being generous. But, I would've stayed if they didn't pull that awful move on us-like no way it was not worth 19.99. Reconsider by putting your buffet price back to 11.00. That's it other than that the atmosphere was decent and quiet no one was there.
