The Scented Market

I was so thrilled to find this store online. I was sold on the soy candles, however if I could give 0 stars I would. The first online communication was not bad. It quickly went to dismal. Customer service is non-existent. I was so thoroughly disappointed with the way I was treated I would never support a business that is just so rude.There are other Canadian companies making beautiful soy candles. I suggest googling them.

Since I discovered The Scented Market , I’ve come to love this Female , Family owned Canadian business. Kristy carries the most amazing candles that smell amazing that come at all price brackets. Also many amazing home decor items, and accessories to complement you candle. I highly recommend for locals to drop by and for the Ottawa area to visit the website and follow Kristy on Instagram and see all her updates. If I could give 10 stars I would. Would give zero stars if I could. Bought three different candles, the first one the jar completely went black. The next one the wick went off centre and it went all weird. Candles are way over priced and don’t smell that much. I will continue to shop at bath and body works way better products.

I first discovered The Scented Market candles at local markets. I tried them and fell in love with their candles. I thoroughly enjoy the owner, Kristy’s, engagement with her followers on Instagram and she is very friendly in person too! The shop is adorable and I enjoy seeing some other local businesses products stocked here as well. It’s a very pleasant to shop here and her staff is super nice too. If you are shopping for yourself or for gifts, check them out!

Finally made it into The Scented Market store after purchasing gift certificates online on two occasions for my daughter-in-law. I must say, the store is so beautiful...topped only by the way it smells! I purchased MY first Scented Market candle which was no easy task with all the wonderful scents. I decided on Tis' The Season. I lit it as soon as I got home and it did not disappoint. Within a few minutes the whole room and adjoining rooms were filled with the heart-warming smells of Christmas! I can't wait to pick up my next candle!

There is no doubt this local business has a strong passionate owner that has worked hard to build her business. The store is full of vast scents, you are surely to find one you like. But, the customer service of this operation is horrible and has turned me off returning to support. A fun evening out with friends at candle making was ruined by poor communication by the owner and store manager as well as horrible compensation options for our friend who paid but couldn't make it. Would it of been too much trouble to offer us at check-in (when we shared our friend couldn't make it), to suggest we could make her a candle? Instead you took her money well in advance and she got nothing. In addition, you wouldn't allow us to pick a candle off the shelf in lieu of the candle our friend missed making. This lack of customer service was such a turn off and really unbelievable. We all spent money coming to the event + even more picking up items from the store, and you couldn't support our friend who paid for the event and couldn't make it. Honestly that's Brutal!

Excellent selection of soy-based scented candles and home decor. Organized and beautiful in a very simple way. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Really like that some candles have very Ontario names and related to places and experiences in our province. These would make great gifts for someone who wants to represent our area.Love that this is a local business with fantastic products.
