Bumbu Indonesian Grill

Certainly the best Indonesian food I have had in Calgary. We got the Sate lamb and Lamb Curry dish and it was absolutely delicious.. unique and full of flavours. Highly recommend

I’ve been cautious of trying Indonesian food in North America because of my past experiences with unauthentic establishments here. Haven’t had Indonesian food in a while though and decided to give Bumbu try (that means spices in Bahasa Indonesia btw). I tried the Nasi Kuning, Beef Rendang and Green Curry Chicken with sambal on the side and I can genuinely say I was reminded of my Indonesian grandmother’s cooking when I was younger. Everything is authentic and if you constantly complain how there’s nothing spicy in this country, you haven’t tried Bumbu.

Ordered nasi goreng through DoorDash and I’m so disappointed. The order was late because they ‘lost their ipad’. The order was just plain steamed pieces of chicken and rice. I’ve ordered from the old Indonesian in the market before and it was excellent. Small portions, way overpriced, and not worth it, will not be returning.

Absolutely delicious. The Mie Goreng here is top shelf. Service was friendly although a little disjointed and frantic. I will definitely come back.

Tried their Nasi Goreng at the Avenida food hall and it was really good!The level of spiciness was just right and despite the portion being regular size (or my bigger appetite), I felt surprisingly full afterwards.Keep up the good work!

Visiting Calgary and decided to try this place — legit one of the most authentic Indonesian restaurants I’ve had in Canada. I had the Rendang and Green Curry Chicken with Nasi Kuning. I’d definitely come back next time I’m here.

Amazing food, and surprisingly decent prices. We got the beef date and the peanut sauce is so addicting. When they ask you if you want hot sauce, just say yes! Thank me later

Amazing food. I’m from Indonesia and I found it to be authentic, and the flavours were amazing. Their rendang is to die for, and you have to try the peanut sauce! Friendly service as well, they will give you a sample so you can try before you decide

Wow, has this place ever found it's footing since re-establishing itself after purchasing it from the original owner.I use to go to Bumbu (formerly Kaffir Lime) when it was still at the original location in the Kingsland Farmer's Market. Bumbu was my first foire into the realm of Indonesian food, and since I have tried many a places - Let me be the one to tell you that none of them compare. The balance of aromatics is spot on, and the contrast of sweet, savory and indulgently spicy flavors is irresistible. The current owner, a very nice young lady that purchased and took over the running of the business has somehow managed to improve upon the original formula that made Kaffir, and now Bumbu one of the best places to eat in town.Oh! And the value is outrageous - like $14 for a large bowl filled to the brim with high quality components? Please don't raise your prices! (But if you do, please note that a price increase would NOT stop me from indulging on a weekly basis)

I was thoroughly impressed by the food here. It looks like a fast food joint but the quality is amazing. My favourite part is how they incorporate a lot of fresh veggies so it's quite healthy. Flavor wise, everything was perfect. I find a lot of restaurants rely on salt but here you can taste the different spices and detail in the sauces. My favorite was the migorang noodles which i got spicy and the beef rendang. Will definitely be coming back as good Indonesian food is hard to find around the city!
