Wish I can give zero stars. My friend had one of the worst experiences dealing with this place. Had adopted a cat that was sick and this establishment should have been upfront and honest knowing it was a sick cat. Clearly not good enough assessments/vet checks are done prior to releasing for adoption. They had to spend hundreds of dollars on changing foods and vet bills to find out the Dr said it was either leukemia or feline aids and to return it where it came from. This poor little cat suffering, and no customer service, no empathy and practically a 'what do you want from us' attitude. How about an apology, some compassion.ADOPTERS BE WARE.Super unprofessional and worse is the poor suffering of this animal.

My son loves cats. I'm a dog person. The plan? Go to the cat cafe. Sit and drink a coffee. Have cats wander around to my kid's delight.Entry is from the rear of the building.Admission is $5 regardless of age. They take debit. The furniture was likely donated, considering this is a not for profit. There's a mix of old couches and patio furniture, with cat stuff (wheels, towers, sleeping areas etc). While I did not see any, Winnipeg does have a bug problem. I am always cautious about sitting on salvaged furniture.Everything is in one big room, including kennels with kitty litter, which results in the smell.I didn't see coffee. They may have had small chip bags. The smell would have put me off consuming anything. They have I like cats" sweaters available for $20.We stayed for about 30 minutes.I wouldn't call this a cafe; more like somewhere you'd come to watch or play with a cat

The cats are well cared for and the set up definitely seems to promote socialization amongst the cats. The owner observes personalities and watches for conflicts is quick to adjust anything needed to keep her cats safe and healthy.

I wanted to take the time to leave a 5 star review as an adopter and say that any previous reviews about the staff at the café not vetting cats enough prior to adoptions couldn't be farther from the truth. I did actually choose to adopt a sick" cat with a pre-existing medical condition (FIV positive)

Highly recommend!!!This should be your FIRST choice for a kitty adoption centre when you’re looking to add to your family!! Jennifer is an absolute pleasure to work with and the kitties are very well cared for!Not that this should make up your mind but her costs are the lowest in Winnipeg for adoptions and they include spay/neuter and vaccinations!!You have to adopt from here!!

This place takes really good care of cats. They will not place a cat for adoption if the cat is not ready.Last year so many were interested in adopting Sabre. But unfortunately she has Pancreatitis and understandably people do not want to take that on. Also her food can be expensive. So they have decided that Sabre will no longer be up for adoption and will live there permanently.I for one wanted to adopt Sabre even if she is sick, but our Apt. is allowed to have only one cat.Ask Jen the story of Sabre and tell me if it will not break your heart.I have so much respect for this place because taking care of a cat is not easy what more with so many cats to look after and feed them and love them. They have rescued so many cats. So if you feel like adopting a cat make sure you are ready to love that baby. It's a big responsibility, they need proper care, attention, love and more love. In return they will love you unconditionally.Thank You Miss J. La's Fur Babies Cat Cafe for all the things you do,rescuing them is something else but taking really good care of them when no one does is amazing. I wish that you will get more help because I know you need them.I will pray that the babies will find good loving people to take them home and love them with all of their heart. One day when everything is really back to normal I will come visit you guys and hopefully I get to hug my Sabre.Take Care and God Bless ❤Much Love,Elsie May Sese セセ

Full disclosure, as someone who is very allergic to cats, this was stepping somewhat out of my comfort zone, and this was a visit for the kid's enjoyment. Let's start with the location, don't go to the front door on Henderson, place is only accessible round back. We just ended up parking on a residential street as the parking for the actual cat cafe is pretty much non existent. You will be let in and out by staff, I take it so cats dont escape. Price of admission is $5 per person, no discount for kids, they do have debit/credit machine. So, having the word cafe in the title, I had expected a... well, to be able to order coffee or something of the sort, but from what I could tell there were only $1/bags of chips available. There is a definite smell of cats in the place. Look, bottom line, if you love cat's this is a neat concept, the cat's themselves are super friendly and affectionate. If you're not a cat person, this will be an interesting time for you. Pro tip dont wear anything you're unwilling to have cats with claws walk on.

A cat lovers dream! The kitty's are so lovely, the owner is so friendly and nice. It's a wonderful place to go especially when you're stressed and need to cuddle a bunch of cats! I pretty much have to be dragged out each time because I never want to leave

The cats are well taken care of. The owner of this establishment seems to really care about these cats! It is such a shame there are people here making snide comments about the furniture. Imagine, a non profit accepting donations! Never would have guessed!Anyways, back to the cafe. The cats are friendly and engage with people. Cats that are not ready to interact with people or other cats are in kennels for their own peace of mind. There are chips and canned drinks for sale likely because there is no separate place to prepare food. All the cats are up for adoption, and in an environment like this you gain valuable insight on which cat would be best suited for your home and family. The adoption process is thorough, and puts the well being of the cats first. The fees are reasonable. All in all, I will be back. I will also try and support this place where I can, as it definitely fills a need in this city!
