These folks know what they're doing! Inside is nothing fancy but their fish & chips are incredible! (And I do recommend eating it right there, fresh and HOT, if possible.) Pretty much the best I've ever had. There's a gluten-free option (yay!) which was crispy and delicious. Thick cut fries, not soggy - perfection. I hope to get back here some day!

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Found this place by a Google search and wasn’t disappointed. We ordered the 2 piece meals for halibut, haddock, and cod - they were all unbelievable. Great place and great local ownership that was real friendly.

First time here and try their snapper, halibut and calamari, all taste great. You can tell they use fresh oil and seafood, and the amount of batter is just right. The owner is super friendly as well. Would definitely come back.

This place is great! I’ve been traveling around the island for 4 months and have eaten a lot of fish and chips along the way. Hands down the best I’ve had. The crab cakes were very flavorful as well. Lots of crab meat not filler. It’s a pretty unassuming spot but the food and service is great. The staff working here are super friendly and you can tell that take pride in their food. We’ll be back for sure.

We had fish and chips here and it was delicious. Fresh fish with chips, a little bowl salad and sauce. The restaurant is a bit shabby, but the food is very good.

So good! A small, independent, mom and pop shop, with fresh fish and chips! We took the ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo and were so happy with our first meal on the island.We tried the Lingcod two piece fish and chips and also tried the Clam Chowder. Both did not disappoint! The batter was perfectly light and not too greasy. An ideal fish to batter ratio.Our friends had tacos and cod fish and chips and everyone was so happy with their meals.

Ordered the halibut fish and chips two piece, while my partner ordered the five deep fried oysters. The fish was quite good, it paired well with the in house tar tar sauce, my partner enjoyed the oysters but found the batter to be a bit on the heavy side. Not a bad place for a quick and decent lunch. Worth a stop if your in the area for sure

Tonight was our first time trying Maggie’s and the food was Devine! We both ordered the halibut that came with fries, coleslaw, a slice of lemon & tarter sauce. The fish was crispy on the outside & moist, not to oily. I hope the few who rated you poorly will give you another chance, because we had an excellent experience and the food was cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are huge, which reflects the price and it is more fish then batter. We will most defiantly be returning again in the future :) thank you for the delicious meal. Oh and the tarter sauce was amazing! I don’t usually like tarter sauce but this one was delicious.
