Highland Park Walk-In Medical Clinic

Not sure what all the poor reviews are but I had a great experience. Sure it was a bit of a wait, but what do you expect with all the damage our provincial government has done this last few years. The receptionist was friendly and Dr. Rautenbach was great. He was quick and listened to my concerns. Overall very impressed and although I’m from Edmonton, if I’m ever needing a medical centre in Red Deer, this will be it.

The doctor was very kind and proffesional but the receptionist was not so happy when I called to book for an appointment. Customer service was not so great. She sounds so annoyed and uninterested when I was inquiring and told that they only book appoinment for patient with a family doctor. I don't have one since its my first time to go to a clinic to get a doctors note. I ended up going to do walk-in and waited for couple of hours which is fair. I've been working with customers the whole time but I never sounded like that to customers ever. To you Ms. Receptionist, pls be more friendly and proffesional when talking to customers/patients through phone or in person or look for another job that doesn't require customer service. Thanks

2 seperate doctors at this clinic treated my high BP with medication. Upon seeing a third doctor for a new prescription, he was proactive and decided to find out WHY my blood pressure was high and stated a possible reason. Within 2 weeks, I was diagnosed with what he had suspected. I had a thyroid disease. The first 2 doctors either did not know or they did not care. My condition was so serious that I had to have radiation therapy. Thank God for Dr. Pienaar, who has since left this clinic. Reception staff are about as rude and indifferent as it gets.

Arrived just before 3pm- not one patient waiting in the clinic and a sign stating not accepting walk-ins. I asked if they could squeeze" me in and pointed to the fact I saw no one there. Apparently only taking the patients that are booked in for the rest of the day. Please don't claim to be a walk in clinic

I have been consistently disappointed by this clinic in the last two years. They cut back open hours and availability, and if you need them on short notice they are always full. Today we were once again turned away when I brought my son in with an open bleeding wound needing stitches from a school incident. They were full, which seems to always be the case every time they are needed. In triage care breathing, then bleeding always takes precedence, it would have taken 5-10 minutes which in any medical professionals schedule should be more then doable without affecting anyone else's care. Being a decent citizen I'm not going to take my son in to the emergency room, hold up emergency medical staff for what should be a simple task easily taken care of at a walk-in or family medicine clinic. I find the reception here is very abrupt, and not helpful (I even asked if they knew of another place I could take him to, I got a wave and a 'there's another clinic over in village mall try there'. Great interpersonal skills *insert very large eye roll here*). I'm done bringing anyone in my family here. While the Doctors may be okay, the reception is very poor and their availability is joke. Thankfully we were received very warmly at the Village Mall Clinic and seen right away by Dr. Richard Swanepoel, who I was very happy to meet! He was friendly, and very calming with my son and the receptionist was very kind. So kudos to Village Mall for picking up the awful slack made by our so called Family Clinic". We will definitely be making a change in our care plan as a family; as we need someone and someplace that is more consistent

The staff and doctors are very helpful and efficient, great help everytime we need to go there. Treated really well always.

Doctors are wonderful and super helpful and friendly which really sucks because the front desk receptionists are incredibly rude and hard to deal with, one in particular should definitely find work somewhere she doesn't have to talk to people because she clearly doesn't enjoy it. I'm now switching walk in unfortunately because i cannot deal with them when im just seeking help. Village mall walk in is significantly more professional and i would recommend them over here.

Friendly and quick service. I was in and out with my drivers medical within 20 minutes. I only waited for 5 minutes.

I do like the doctors here, however according to reception unless you have a family doctor here, you can't book your children in for an appointment at all period OR walk in. If I'm calling for just myself, they get me in pretty quick. This is absolutely ridiculous. This clinic used to be the best in town, I never went to another clinic the past 15 years, now I am outraged. Do NOT waste your time.

I had been going to this clinic for 20 years and I never once had a pleasant interaction with the receptionists. I understand things get busy and stressful but for every single time to be treated awful is excessive. Saddening as I loved the doctors but couldn’t take the receptionists anymore
