Absurd rules for public landowners, yet the Ontario government can do whatever they want to the environment, destroying everything in their path. Seperate rules for government bodies, run by who? The government!

This place is a gem if you come prepared - you can walk for easily 2 hours right here in town. In the spring you WILL need rubber boots, in the summer you WILL need bug spray. One consideration is that the terrain is rough and there isn't a great spot to sit down en route, so it's not a great option for anyone with limited mobility. Perfect if you have a dog that needs a LOT of exercise, there is an off-leash area with a Flick with a Stick policy.

I used to go in here regularly, but no more. They are charging $5 to park, and walk these trails now! They get money from the city, from the federal govt, which is all taxpayers money, and now they want more of your money. Disgusting money grab. Pay to walk in nature, the ontario way !

Nice conservation area located just on the edge of town, close to Loyalist College. Trails are well maintained and its a nice loop. Worth coming in different seasons to see how the colors change and to see the wildflowers blooming. Lots of frogs and the odd other amphibians and reptiles, haven't seen any turtles on the main trail side of the conservation area though. Definitely recommend coming here for a walk, or a picnic on the bayshore side. (Also *photos Ive posted recently are older photos, just being reposted, since I've noticed a lot of the photos at this site are gone now, and Ill post new ones in the next week or so*)

We were greeted with a nice warm smile and didn't have to wait long for help. The lady that helped us was new to the job but she knocked it outta the park once she got going. Gave us great info and tips and we were on our way again. There are nature trails in the back that let you get some exercise and fresh air...

Use to be a nice spot for a walk but after recent years wind storms trees are down all over the place and any wildlife has left the area. New this year they made it gated so you require some pass to enter. Sad but in these times you cant even go for a walk for free anymore. Use to enjoy taking our daughter for a walk here but going to hard pass paying to walk in the woods, plenty of places to do that for FREE. What a joke.

Easy nature trails, family and dog friendly. Enough trail to spend a couple of hours at a leisurely pace. Paid parking.
