Burnside Gorge Community Centre

This center is a very welcoming and compassionate community of helpful and knowledgeable staff, especially for families in need of extra support and guidance. They are always willing to help in any way they can. They definitely deserve five stars plus for the caring atmosphere they exhibit. Thank you!

It's a smaller building with limited parking, but there are some 2 hour street parking by the skate park. This community centre offers alot of services including daily playgroups for babies/toddlers which is why I go there. There are also areas to donate/get items including food and clothes

This is what we here in Canada call a neighbourhood community house. Not a large facility, the Burnside Gorge Community Centre is a modern concrete building with a green roof that nestles perfectly into the wooded slopes of Cecelia Creek. The washrooms are clean and accessible to those who need a little more room.This facility offers community support for local families through Mommy & Baby gatherings and includes a daycare centre for the really young under five years of age. It has a fine play facility. The community kitchen offers inexpensive lunches for local lonely people.Coffee, Tea and water are available for free all day. There is also a local newspaper to browse. The best thing for someone with my low income is the food bank." The provision of fresh fruits and vegetables has changed the way I eat. Also there are free sandwiches sometimes that are past the sell-by date and these are awesome. Way out of my price range. The free bread

Great community centre, I used Togo to a weekly yoga session there a few years ago. Very welcoming place for all.

Great centre that cares about the community. All of the staff have been very welcoming and helpful. We love the playgroup for our little ones. Its a very inclusive group. Teacher Ginny is great with the kids and always has a fun and educational craft for the kids, reads stories usually within the theme of the week and offers a healthy snack. Can not recommend her and this group more.

If i am able to give them 0 star I would! Unfortunately since 2 months ago I had terribles experience at this place, the new person on charge after Theresa at the playgroup is so mean and unprofessional to the point she grabbed my little one in an aggressive way, because she was upset. Today i realized my kids are not able to play at the playground (nobody there) anymore because they have “new rules” when i asked to the lady what is your name? She refused to give me her name been very rude! After all those situations this place is not welcoming anymore.
