Colchester SPCA

Doing a great job of caring for the animals. It's sad to see more than 1 cat in some cages. There is such an abundance of the need to find these precious cats a great forever home. I went in to search for a new fur baby and ended up rescuing & adopting 2. I'll never understand how cruel people can be treating their pets like a piece of garbage. To move and leave behind or abandon these precious cats is inhumane. The SPCA does all it can do in helping with a limited amount of funds and the need to expand their facility. How can you not fall in love with any one of these adorable yet homeless animals who didn't deserve to be horribly treated and left to try to survive on their own? My 2 girls are my sanity keepers and to be rescued to a forever home is humbling to have their unconditional love is the most rewarding feeling you could have.

Adopted a sweet kitty who ...I was told had a grain allergy , and was recovering from dental surgery and a skin rash from grain allergy. I was assured at adoption that any grain free food was ok for her ....Sadly returned her to them today... Met with hostile and cranky staff who nearly refused to take her ... Wth? They adopted out a sick cat and are mad at me??? It's a sad day for our family n we got treated badly .. smh

We adopted from Colchester SPCA and sadly lost him after 3 yrs, he was a senior dog. We just adopted from Kings SPCA and Colchester SPCA has been great with making sure our new" senior baby has been taken care of for his vet visits

Brilliant work done at the SPCA, especially now with their open admission policy. I've seen firsthand the care and love that they put toward every animal. They do need to fix their wheelchair ramp though!

A very pleasant place to stop in meet and greet with animals and have a good chat with the great staff there. They are so friendly and it comes through in how they take care of their animals. I walk dogs quite often there and it is a pleasure to help them out since many the people there I do believe are volunteers. Stop by and donate something, go to the dollar store and buy something, almost anything to do with cats or dogs is a big help to them.

My girlfriend wanted a cat. They had several to choose from as well as a range of ages. She adopted the oldest one, a lovely 9 year old. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Wonderfull staff you can tell they care deeply about the animals they shelter. They were super friendly and answered all the questions we had about our new furry family member. If you looking for a pet adopting from the spca is the way to go.

Copied from my Pictou SPCA review, but our experience was the same and we ended up adopting from here. Amazing people doing great work. They are terribly underfunded, so consider adopting your next pet instead of going to a breeder, and please consider donating money or items on their wishlist (comprising day to day supplies they badly need). These days it's hard for alot of people to worry beyond their own roof and table for sure, but for those of us not so worried even a little helps. Just like humans, sometimes pets just need a second chance and someone to care about them.

Staff is awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and they have great talent for placing animals in the right home with the right owner. I got my cat here and she's a perfect fit, love this place
