Dr. Hautala is the worst maternity doctor.

I had my third child in 2017 and MCW was great... I was so happy with Erin (midwife), she coached me through pushing better then any Dr i had dealt with previously. She respected my wishes in the delivery room, and she has great bedside manner. I was happy with my overall experience pre and post baby.

Very knowledgeable, inviting, and caring team. We are having an amazing experience here!

The best ..If you are planning on having a child please look into going here .. They really take the stress out of things and help you understand how things will be going forward in regards to the changes in your life .. They are PROS!!

Staff are wonderful and helpful. Great little play area for little kids. Appointments are always on time. A big Thank You to everyone there!

The staff is friendly and informative however when I was in labor they were only there 30 mins in total. They only came to see how far I was dilated and left again for multiple hours. I was in labour for 20 hours. The epidural was given to me too early and ended up slowing my labor. I had absolutely no guidance. I ended up having to have a c-section because no one had me change position while laying in bed (due to epidural) and my son didn’t properly move into my birth canal. I was so disappointed. I had a horrible labor experience. Now to me, they can be as nice and informative as they want, in the end they were completely useless. Would never recommend to anyone. Take you chances.

Unfortunately I started having undiagnosed gall bladder attacks around 18 weeks pregnant. I went to my care provider (Maternity Care WestKelowna) during an attack and they gave me a suicide help phone number as they said I was having a panic attack. I have never suffered from any type of mental Illness in my life but the undiagnosed gall bladder attack was the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life. I pleaded and cried for them to believe me and I was sent away. I immediately switched to a doctor at Mill Creek and I was diagnosed with gall bladder attacks and 20 days post patrum had my gall bladder removed via surgery. These attacks hurt more than my labour and I felt so gaslighted by the entire staff at Maternity Care. They did not listen to me, care about me and they misdiagnosed me. An absolute joke of health care. How dare you make a pregnant woman suffer in pain. I would advise anyone to NEVER use them and seek medical care somewhere else.

I had the BEST experience with MCW. The ladies are all amazing, super friendly and helpful! They took such great care of my baby and I throughout my entire pregnancy and I am forever grateful that I was referred to this clinic. Melissa helped make the birth of my first baby easy and surprisingly not nearly as painful as I had anticipated. We cannot thank her enough for helping us bring our beautiful girl into this world. Anyone would be so lucky to be in their care, I would definitely recommend them!
