Update: Lowered my rating to one star as, after finally getting backing to us and acknowledging that the movers they hired bailed, they told us we'd get a refund for our deposit. We've called numerous times since, always talking to a new person, with the same speech about them being busy and calling us back later.We were going to go into their office and demand our refund (that we were promised), but were told that no one actually works in their Victoria office.AVOID GET MOVERS if you live on Vancouver island, at least.—We scheduled a 3-piece move (2 moves into storage and a final move out of storage into our new home) with Get Movers, which we didn't realize they had entirely outsourced. They also promised our July 1 move in would be upheld, but the moving company they hired (who complained about Get Movers on every call with them) ended up bailing on our final move due to a lack of staffing on July 1. So while we're not that surprised by the moving company bailing like that, we are pretty upset with Get Movers for promising a holiday move—not to mention quietly outsourcing all the work.After trying to contact them multiple times, they have been unresponsive. We will not being using them again in the future and are very upset.

I used Get Movers for a move within Kelowna, BC and it was fine, so when it came time for a move from Kelowna, BC to Victoria, BC I thought to go to them. I understand that GetMovers is simply the broker for the moving companies, but as such some due diligence should be done. I booked with Get Movers and they never once told me I would be having to go with Troy Transport or Vegaline Movers for anything. If I had, I would have looked up their reviews and refused the service.Unfortunately it has been a nightmare experience with poor communication, confusion, lost and broken items, random additional charges, and rudeness from the movers on the receiving end of my move.After I moved in, I went through and discovered that 7 boxes were missing, as well as two tower fans. They also broke two desks, and a coat rack/bench. Immediately I called the customer service line and was told I had to make a list and email the GetMovers customer service. I did this, as well as dispute a $300 additional charge on the day of my move in (the company said they wouldn't bring my things in without it). I was told by GetMovers that I would need to wait 10-14 business days for my claim to be processed. Super annoying but I accepted it.Then a week later a company called Troy Transport said they needed my claim information and that it will take 8-10 weeks! I honestly just want my items back. I have tried emailing and calling and have gotten no where with them. I don't know what there is to investigate either. The movers at the front end of the move provided me with an inventory list that they had me sign off on. Upon move in, they never had me do that.Save yourself the stress, energy, money and time and just book through a moving company directly. Avoid GetMovers, Troy Transport, and Vegaline Movers.
