Fred is amazing!! He is so knowledgeable!! He was fantastic to work with!! This guy grew up with a hammer as a rattle as his Dad was a hands on house builder so Fred has done that and got the T-shirt.His vast knowledge of construction methods is outstanding and second nature to him which keeps a project on time and on budget. He is just so creative and works with a home owner to create a vision and then he builds the vision. He is an outside the box thinker.Fred helped me to completely gut my house. He supervised the walls going back up and then ran with the project from there. He did all the painting, baseboards, trim, hung the pictures, put together the closets, renovated my bathroom, etc. He is so well rounded!In addition, Fred is a genuinely nice guy! He is a pleasure to be around, conscientious, honest and has a ton of integrity. For anyone planning to use Fred for their construction project I would highly recommend him.

I used GVA contracting to replace a 37 year old metal garage door. Fred was very prompt in providing an estimate and arranging for his workers to complete the job. When the door was replaced, the old deadbolt did not fit and the workers ended up placing a new dead bolt lock. Of course, the keys were now different than before and this would be an inconvenience. I spoke with Fred by phone to see if he could look at whether the old lock could be used. He came over himself in the evening. He noted that, as his crew had said, the old lock did not fit the new door. Amazingly, he was able to use the dead bolt part of the new lock and retool parts of the old lock so that the combined lock worked perfectly and now we could still use our old keys as before. I was very impressed by his ability to think out of the box and problem solve so that the end result was exactly as we wished. There was no extra charge for his time in dealing with this. I will use GVA again and highly recommend the company and Fred.

Fred is our go to guy for minor and major repairs/upgrades to our heritage home. He has completed multiple jobs for us over the years and we are very happy each time. Fred is very knowledgeable, skilled in all areas, and always does an excellent job. I am also impressed how accurate his estimates are. Highly recommend!

Excellent work; willingly took on a grungy job and did a great job in shoring up the porch as well as replacing deck stairs, a gate, and part of a fence. Went out of his way to blend in the ancient stucco with the repair work. Innovative in determining the best route to take to fix everything. Would highly recommend Fred and will utilize him for any future work.Fred returned to repair windows and soffits (doing an excellent job) and was here after a locksmith had attempted to repair the old but sturdy door hardware. After the locksmith left, the doorknob fell off in 3 days (2 of which we weren't here). Fred repaired it in 45 minutes and it's as good as new.

Fred did a high quality custom cedar fence rebuilt for me and had fixed my long-term kitchen cabinet door problems.I have found Fred to have good knowledge and lot's of experience. He is also in my opinion a very honest and down to earth person who can be trusted. I have no hesitation to recommend him and his GVA contracting company to anyone who requires help in carpentry jobs, small or big.

Hired Fred to come install interior doors, install trim and mouldings. He did an excellent job in a timely manner for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend hiring GVA contracting again for any carpentry work!

Fred was extremely helpful when i had a water leak in the bathroom. I had been told it was a pipe in the floor, but he came over immediatly (on a sunday!) And quickly figured out that my toilet tank was cracked. It ended up being covered by warrenty and he was an complete gentlman about not getting the job. I would highly recommend him and will definitly call on him if needed in the future.

Our strata hired GVA to repair some extensive rot in a back stairwell. Fred completed the job earlier than expected and the workmanship was excellent. My husband and I were so impressed by the quality of his work that we subsequently hired him to do a number of jobs inside our suite. We highly recommend Fred.

Fred did an excellent job on our flooring. We had our balcony deck reinstalled with Trax. He removed our old cedar and replaced them with Trax. His workmanship is neat and tidy. He was on schedule and finished the job in the timeline he gave us.We chose GVA based on the reviews we read and he responded the fastest when we called which gives us a positive first impression. Pricing wise, I do believe he was reasonable and more importantly his work quality speaks for itself. We will definitely use him again if we need other stuff done in the home improvement segment. Fred is very easy to work with ! We wud highly recommend him to anyone !
