Randy and his team are probably the most honest mechanics in the Oceanside area. I came across Smithers by doing a Google search, called him up, and haven't looked anywhere since. He is genuinely the most honest mechanic & garage that I have ever worked with. He prices fairly, tells you what you need, what can wait, tries to get you the best pricing on parts, and stands by his work. I cannot stress this enough: HE STANDS BY HIS WORK. If you are looking for a mechanic in the Parksville area, do yourself a favor and go talk to Randy. He will make sure that you and your vehicle are well taken care of.

Knowledgeable staff who get the job done in a timely manner. All work I have had done here has been above expectations.

Awesome shop. Needed work done quickly, made my way down the Google list and was told three week wait by everyone. Randy got me in quickly and really helped me out of a bind. Would highly recommend this place!

Great service and cheap

Was concerned about a noise I was hearing in my pic up so took it in to Smithers. After half hour checking over my truck they could not find anything wrong. When I ask how much they said no charge.. great honest people there. Thanks a bunch smithers road auto.

Straight up and prices are very fair, I'm an ex mechanic and been very happy w the work they do !

Replaced both sides of the front end of a car with this company following a rod breaking off the passenger side tire assembly. After Smither's repaired the vehicle for about $1700, the opposite side tire on the same car literally came clean OFF, WHILE DRIVING, less than 100 miles later. Lug nuts were loose, and one of the bolts sheared clean off. If we'd had been going highway speeds, somebody would be in the hospital today. They did not seem to care much when we followed up. We decided to throw in the towel and not continue arguing about it with Smither's (the fact that somebody could have been seriously injured or killed was enough for one day), and took our business (and car) elsewhere to be fixed, again. I will not recommend Smithers auto to anybody I care about and advise you to do the same.

Awesome mechanics. Went above and beyond when they fixed my girlfriends car. Not many trustworthy mechanics around but these guys are honest, trustworthy, and do great work.

While experiencing brake fade in the mountains I felt it best to get them looked at. Good thing I did. My own mechanic back home did a 200 point inspection some how missed this a month before our trip. Thanks James for under promising but over delivering we were in and out a lot quicker than anticipated. $1900 later but that is the island costs.???? Safety is more important.
