I found this shop from their ad on Kijiji to repair subwoofers. I brought them my JL Audio 13W7 for repair and they said I had to pay $80 to “diagnose” which would be waived if I decided to have them repair it. After about a month they told me that my “voice coil was blown” and quoted me $500 for repair. I found that price not worth it so I called it a loss and forgot about it. A couple months later they called me to say that either i come pick it up that week or they would be “disposing” if it. Out of spite because I didn’t want them to repair it at their cost and sell it for a profit, I went and picked it up. Then out of curiosity I found another shop off google in the Beaches area (I won’t name to remain impartial). They originally quoted me $150 to repair based on the diagnosis of this shop. Shortly after bringing it to them (within the hour) they told me they had found the problem. It was a terminal in the box and my sub itself was working fine! A very simple, cheap, easy fix that took them an hour. Needless to say I find this place very dishonest and my experience with them was borderline CRIMINAL. They charged me to diagnose and didn’t even bother to take my sub out of the box because if they had and they tested it they would have saw it worked fine. Or they did take it out and knowingly quoted me an absurd price for a repair that wasn’t needed. Either way, my first hand advice is to avoid this place like the plague. The owner was actually very friendly and talked to me for awhile when I brought it in, which can easily lead you to trust his business. Don’t be fooled!

Terrible service and communication from this company. Will hope to never have to deal with them again regarding third party repairs. Will never purchase anything from inMusic brands again thanks to the poor support from this third party and third rate repair facility.

I dealt with Custom Sound for years . From speaker replacement to fixing a channel on a amp or a cable needed for a gig. Reasonably priced

I dropped two power amp to this company for repair. Never called u back on status. U needed to keep calling and asking. Giving you same response, either cannot find problem or wait for dealer to reply the repair part cost. Of course they charges $180 plus tax . It took more than 3 months and I found no service was provided. I ended took my amp back and asked the manager to reply me. Never happened.If u want service , NEVER NEVER go to this company. U for sure waste your money and time. I want to rate zero star if I can.

From start to finish truly a pleasure to deal with! My Numark Mix Track Pro II was repaired by Custom Sound (pitch bend damage caused by me) Brian was an absolute pleasure to deal with from a Customer Service perspective as when Numark refused to honor my warranty Brian convinced his Supervisor to knock $10.00 off labor making an already affordable repair even cheaper and making me less annoyed at Numark themselves. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE IN THE GTA THAT YOU ENTRUST CUSTOM SOUND AND LIGHT SYSTEMS TO SERVICE YOUR DJ EQUIPMENT!Thank you for getting my Turntables back up and running again, the pitch bend is as good as new like it wasn't even damaged! - Anthony

They advertised on kijiji to repair speakers. So I called them up and asked them if they could repair my speakers. They said Bring em in". So I did on January 23rd 2016.After 3 months and almost $500 later they said my speakers were working and I could pick them up . The veneer was chipped and the base was broken. Brought them home and they didn't work. Same issue

Terrible communication, constant stalling. My sound card was here for 5 months and nothing was fixed even though I put them in touch with the company technical support team. No communication was initiated to the support team either. The other 1 star reviews seen here are valid. Avoid coming here.

A 3 week repair ended up being a 3-1/2 month disaster. I brought in a high-end effects unit that powered up, but wouldn't function beyond that. After 3-1/2 months of stalling and excuses, the unit was returned to me but not fixed. I was quoted a repair price higher than the cost of the unit! Sounds like they didn't know how to fix it or simply didn't want to fix it so they overpriced the it cost of the repair to get it out of the store! You decide I guess. My advice for repairs, go anywhere else, but not Custom Lights and Sound!
