Tristan is an all-star piano teacher! When I first stared out I was barely a beginner, and after one year of taking lessons with Tristan I began playing collegial 1 pieces! For example pieces like Chopin's Nocturne No.2 In E-Flat Major. Not only does Tristan have a clear and productive way of teaching, he is an overall great person and a pleasure to be around. I highly recommend Tristan to anyone interested in playing piano. Just make sure to call and book before the fall season, because he tends to get busy during that time. Ask him to play his version of the godfather theme song, and Beethoven's 5th, they will blow your mind!

Tristan is the consummate professional; a caring teacher who knows how to help his students learn and grow, technically and artistically. He is also a wonderful performer who can pass on excellent advice about all things performance related. As a singer I worked with him in several concerts and he was cool headed and supportive. He is a fantastic pianist in both the solo and accompanying repertoire. I cannot say enough about Tristan, whose integrity and compassion are the trademarks of his teaching, and how he treats all his students and colleagues.

The best place to learn piano. I have been learning piano with Tristan for a year and a half now and I love it. He really takes the time to tailor his teaching to your learning style and ensures you build your base properly to be strong in reading music.

Tristan has piano teachers all around the city. My instructor Lucas is a very professional pianist who provides teaching with high expectation but also patience and encouragement. I had no experience with the piano before, but after learning it for less than a year, I've made significant progress. The price is also reasonable. I would highly recommend this place.

I have known Tristan for over 20 years and have had the privilege of working with him in the past as a musician and colleague. His strong musical, pianistic and artistic abilities and knowledge make him stand out as both a musician and pedagogue. He has performed as a recitalist, orchestra soloist, chamber musician and accompanist throughout Canada and internationally, allowing him to collaborate with other musicians of international reputation and caliber. Over the years, I have also observed Tristan as a teacher and have seen how passionate, patient and attentive he is with each of his students, no matter what age or level they are. He has a wonderful and easy going personality, as well as a vested interested in ensuring that each of his students succeed and excel in their piano abilities and develop a love for their instrument. I would not hesitate to recommend Tristan as one of the top pianists and piano teachers of our city.

Simply put, Tristan is a wonderful teacher. On top of that, he has to be one of the most efficient people I've ever met. As it stands, he's well on his way to becoming the don of a global piano empire and I'm convinced that had he not been sidetracked by the piano he'd probably be supreme overlord of the world by now. In all seriousness, Tristan is a very skilled pianist and a patient teacher, and one that I'd recommend to anyone wishing to pursue the piano. In addition to being able to help beginners and advanced students alike with their technique, Tristan can also help with solfege and theory as he was able to teach me enough of these fields to be accepted to a music cegep within just one month. Lastly, Tristan is able to provide the opportunity to play in a concert before a large audience at least once a year for those interested. All in all, Tristan is a terrific teacher and one that helped me enormously in my development as a pianist.

My 2 sons and my wife have been under Tristan's tutelage since May 2013. I am no pianist, but I observe a vast improvement in their piano playing in a matter of one year's work. Tristan has done a fabulous job in helping my kids and wife attain their respective short term goals, and I am sure they will all progress to become fine pianists in the near future.

We’ve had our son in Tristan’s competitive program for the last two years and our daughters taking with his affiliated teacher Benjamin Bertin. Tristan has been great with our son, as teacher and coach, knowing just how to speak to him, encourage, and motivate him. Tristan somehow has managed to make Hanon exercises fun! He’s tough and has high expectations but is always fair and stays positive, so that if you come into the lesson prepared you leave feeling elated and ready to work hard for another week. He also has some of Montreal’s most accomplished student pianists in his studio, so you can trust his competition experience and know you’ll be in good company.Benjamin also has been excellent with my daughters, who are recreational students. He is gentle and patient, detail-oriented, and has an infectious love of the piano and its craft. He has helped my daughters find a musical voice on the piano and we recommend him highly.
