Alert Bay Campground
Convenient campground in the village of Alert Bay - an easy but uphill walk from the ferry and adjacent to the Ecological Park pathways. Prices are very reasonable and the washroom/shower block was well-maintained. Tent spots each include a picnic table and are a bit close together, but ample. Bring loonies for the shower, cash payment for the camp site, and remember to knock before you go into the washroom. There is a bit of traffic through the campsite for people just going to the Ecological Park, but nothing major. As of my visit, food options were still a bit limited, so best to stock up and plan on making your own meals. Would definitely camp here again.

Nice place to walk about, no worries about wild animals.

Lovely campsite. Washrooms are very clean, flushing toilets, shower for a loonie, a real mirror! Things I get very excited about after a week on the road. Big points for the friendly caretaker, no stereos, and the trail system that leads to the right of the gazebo. No cougars, bears, skunks, squirrels and barely any mosquitoes

Alert Bay Campground
Pretty basic campsites, some with piles of brush left behind, missing picnic tables. Shower/washrooms were clean although a bit worn. Friendly manager on site.Considering the popularity of Alert Bay, and the other attractions on the island, this is a poor showing for campers expecting a nicer stay. Perhaps the informal campsite at the north end of Cormorant Island would be a better choice.

Closed for the season but good potential. Wouldn't want to try to get a large unit up there.

Good access point to the trails. Some beautiful trees in here and a couple options for nice quick loops to walk on.Once your in the trails stay left for the beautiful swamp boardwalk or right to loop through an amazing sample of west coast rainforest.

Really great front country camping! Located close to town but also very quiet. Lots of nearby trails to enjoy, clean bathrooms and all the normal stuff (picnic tables, fire pits, etc). Booking online was easy once we found the right link, we can’t wait to come back and explore further!

Alert Bay Campground
This is the one and only campground in Alert Bay. It's kept clean and is a quiet place to stay. You can count on it being available year round except the the weekend of the kayak 360.I've only given it 4 stars because I've never been in the bathroom and can't account for that part. There are two main trail entrances to the campground which provide a wide range of walking trails and board walks. No need to fear flesh eating animals, because Alert Bay doesn't have any. Not even those rats with hooves people mistaken for beautiful deer.

Super friendly staff and great campsite adjacent to fun and challenging hiking trails - first time on the island and can't wait to go back!
