Zen! A magical place well worth the visit! With the year we've been dealt I think we could all use a little more sage (hell, I think we could use a dump load full of sage to help us during this insanity). From the moment you drive up to the charming old house you can tell this place is special. The path that leads to the front door (purple of course) you revel in the beautiful whimsical gardens. Upon the big wooden door opening ~ the feeling of peacefulness and zen is unmistakable. The music (Celtic Whispers) was the perfect music to transport us to a restful mindful state. From tarot cards to chakra related items.... from sage to singing bowls, CDs for meditation, crystals and books there is truly something for anyone on a quest for quiet, comfort and peacefulness. In a zany world ~ this place is pure and utter magic!

One of the wonderful things about living in Gananoque is that popping out to spend some Christmas money can be a delightful adventure. I wanted to add a new colour lotus tea light candle holder to my life. A quick phone call to Purple Door Books & Gifts and I had one purchased. After a lovely winter wonderland drive on the 1000 Island Parkway and my nativity set now has a perfect new addition as you can see in the picture.Easy online purchase, with well organized pandemic pick up.

The Purple Door is 40 mins away from where I live but absolutely worth the drive. Not only is the owner very welcoming and warm but the space itself has much the same feeling. This place has a wonderful vibe in every way. Also, even though it's a smaller space, it has such a wide variety of items that you just can't go wrong. I absolutely recommend a visit. This won't be my last for sure.
