We hired Shawn to do a roof for us in September 2017. The entire experience has been an absolute nightmare and incredibly disappointing. My father has written a review about our experience. Shawn has since contacted us about this review and is refusing to return our deposit of $3277 until my father takes down his post.We feel that the public should be aware that this is how Shawn chooses to do business. I highly suggest staying away from Shawn and Top to Bottom Roofing.*The owners response is laughable. All lies. Luckily we have all correspondence saved to support our court case. Please steer clear of this shady business.

Didn't pay his shingle supplier, who placed a lien on our cottage for money owed. The owner, Shawn Chenard, repeatedly said he would work out a payment plan but didn't, so the supplier started litigation. We have paid $750 in legal fees so far to defend ourselves, with no resolution yet and the lien still on our property. The work was finished in November 2017 and the lien still exists in April 2018 when I updated this, despite the owner's assertion below that it does not.The work on the cottage was also over a month late, despite constantly being promised to be done within 3 days.Note that one of the positive reviews posted here is by the owner!** The company owner has posted below that the issue has been resolved but it has not been. We are out our legal costs and still have a lien on our cottage that we will eventually have to litigate to have removed. He has made no progress on resolving either of those issues as of November 2018, so his comment below is simply not true. **

We now have a construction lien and and a demand letter from a lawyer because Shawn Chenard did not pay his roofing supplier. We paid him thousands of dolllars and he did not use that money for our job. The review from S is from Shawn Chenard - the OWNER so not the most objective.

Called him in to fix leaking skylight. Made a total mess. Black tar all over the place. The skylight leaked even worse after that. $ 250.00 down the drain. Called another company to fix it. They laughed at the work done by Top 2 bottom. Sky light never leaked again after the second company fixed it.

Dishonest is too kind !! This guy took a deposit of more than $ 3000.00 over a year ago from my daughter and son-in-law. He did not do the job and has not refunded the deposit even after several conversations and text messages. Small Claims Court appears to be only alternative. Response from the owner " is simply not truthful. A deposit of exactly $ 3277.00 was paid up front. Even though you stated in a response to another reviewer that money is never taken up front from customers . Promises were made verbally

This company was very unreliable and unprofessional to me. Promised me a quote still haven't gotten it or even an explanation. I almost lost the house I was making a deal on because of this. After contacting in different ways (see attached photos) He even said he'd do a quote from a photo, I sent a photo, there was stoll no response. It was a waste of our time and I'm very happy another company helped us with a quote so we didn't lose our deal.

We had them install a new roof on our home. They came exactly when they promised to, did an excellent job at the agreed price. When I called him about a question of if an issue when an antenna was removed, he came out the next day to verify all was well.I would definitely use them again

My husband and I own the Parry Sound KOA Campground and would highly recommend Shawn and his crew to do your roofing job needs. In September of 2016, Shawn his brother and a large 9 men crew came in and got the job done. We had our main building and our Rec Hall/House Mansard roof done as well. This included the removal of shingles on both rooves and the total replacement of black tar paper and then new shingles. We asked for this to be done quickly due to the fact we had campers still camping with us and we also asked for very little nail mess as this is a hazard especially when open. Shawn was careful to put down multiple tarps and also had a bin dropped off to discard of all of the old shingles and garbage. This job was started mid day Thursday and finished around 8pm Friday! Wow, they were moving. They did a fantastic job! We were very pleased.Then in 10 short months we had a Tornado/Wind Burst /20 minute hail storm come thru here on July 7th at 10:10pm and it obliterated many of the shingles on different angles of our rooves on both buildings. So, we had Shawn and his crew return (Sept 2017) remove the damaged areas and redo. Again, he used tarps and was very careful with the mess as we were open still and got the job done in a very professional manner. The job they did both times for us was top notch. Shawn we must say is very courteous, and knows his stuff. He has WSIB Insurance-which was very important to us. Shawn is an honest & hard worker as is his crew. We hope to not have to do this all again for at least another 25+ years, but if we had to we would go to Shawn again!Don and Michelle Berry
