Let's start with the good.Attached to the hotel are 2 good restaurants and a lovely cafe. The location is great, near Science North and downtown. As for the hotel, and the room itself, not so good.This is not a 3-star hotel as advertised. It's a 2 star, at best. Contrary to what's written on Trip Advisor, breakfast is NOT included (found that out upon arrival, after asking just to make sure).I found out, also upon check-in that the hotel didn't have hot water, and that it's being worked on". I stayed 3 nights - the hot water never came. When I asked to speak to the manager

This is an extremely dumpy hotel. I paid $117 to stay here.The front desk staff would not honour the Choice hotel rate because it was for 2 double beds and she didn't have any of those rooms left. So she gave me a room with 2 Queen beds even though I needed one bed only and charged me $20 or $30 more than The Choice hotel rate website was quoting. There are absolutely no amenities here whatsoever. There is no free breakfast because there is a restaurant attached to the hotel where you can go pay for your own breakfast!There is an outside door to my room and the security latch is being held on by one screw.I was worried about my room and my vehicle being broken into last night.

The room was clean and comfortable. It came with a mini fridge which is very nice, and had two chairs, one with a foot ottoman. There are also two restaurants attached, which is nice. Good location to various things.The room did have a musky scent to it, I think maybe from the Chinese food restaurant garbage next door.The service at the front desk is not great. They are very unknowlegable, and don't actually look into anything for you, or just dont give you straight answer. The girl that works there probably shouldn't. The phone in the room also didn't work. The front of the hotel needs to be cleaned and swept. There is garbage and cigarette butts everywhere.

Stayed one night , Roomwas clean , bed was amazingly comfy and soft didn’t have table or chair to sit at . bathtub couldn’t have a bath plug didn’t work . The hallways were super dirty cigarette butts allover the floors , beer cans everywhere , garbage laying on the floors . people were smoking in rooms and marijuana cold he smelt threw the whole hallway to our room. won’t be back to this one !

The Rodeway feels like an older building but it is well maintained. The room was pretty spacious. We had three chairs and a small coffee table which was very nice. I appreciated having an easy to use heater/air conditioner.The mattress was OK (C) but was a bit lumpy; it has obviously seen better days. I did miss not having a hair dryer, something I've come to expect at a hotel. The shower used a water saver shower head which was OK but I do like it when a hotel room has great water pressure. The temperature of the water did fluctuate a bit which wasn't great.We booked in as three adults but there were only towels for two; it was easily solved by going to the desk and asking for some.The breakfast" consisted of a cold croissant in a baggie
