Loblaws Midland Avenue
Well-stocked shelves and tidy produce section. Prices are somewhat higher than at some of the other grocery stores.

Usually overpriced grocery store. Staff are typically unwilling to help when asked questions. Some unfortunately can not communicate with English or French causing communication barriers.Store is clean, parking is empty, carts are well stocked. Hits the minimum points for a functional grocery in mind.Minor issues with unruly people hanging around the front doors.

Some staff at the deli section are just racist. I tried convincing myself that they’re just being rude, but honestly, I saw how they treat other customers with respect while insulting me simply after detecting an accent. They have been rude to me many times previously but today was the worst and I had to say something hereHonestly.. you’d think you’re just going to lablows to grab a few things and end up being insulted at your neighbourhood store…

I've been shopping at this Loblaws for almost 3 years now, only because it's the closest grocery store to where I live. In that time, the quality of the food here has been all over the place. A couple of years, ago, it was so bad that I actually wrote a complaint to the store. I got a response from the new assistant manager at the time, and he said things would improve, which they did for a while. Now it seems like they're back at a low point. Today I walked in, and the first thing I saw when entering the store (apart from the lack of carts and baskets) was a display of clementine oranges that were rotten and moldy (see photos). The shelves were almost empty in the rest of the produce section too. This is far from the first incident I've had at this store lately, but it's by far the worst. For these reasons, I've started doing most of my shopping at a different store, despite the longer drive. I never minded paying a bit more for better quality, but who wants to pay more for rotten food?

It's a very large store. They have lots of selection. But it can be hard to find stuff if you're not familiar. The prices of everything in the store is significantly more expensive compared to other grociers. They sometimes have good sales, but it can be hard to find. We don't try to go here unless we need something specific that smaller stores might not have. With the cost of living, if you're on a budget it can be harder to shop here. If you've got the money, great, I'm sure you'll have everything you need. Fresh bakery, deli, hot food, and even a wine section. That should tell you who they are catering to.

Pharmacy specific. Holiday hours posted say open at 9:00am today. Not one person in sight. We waited patiently and finally a staff member called to see where the staff is. It is now 9:34am and they just opened. The pharmacist that opened has offered no apology and appears to be lost in this store. This is not the first time we have received such poor service. Staff turnover is high. We are done. This is the last prescription we will have filled here.We are quite disappointed.

This grocery store offers some items that may not be available at other grocery chain stores. Prices are often higher than the food basics and no frills stores. This chain has reported record profits in the last quarter during inflation, so now you know. If you purchase items not of the no-name brand, you're likely paying more than you have to. It's a nice clean store, they offer prepared meals, hot line or cold re-heat meals. Clothing is available here.
