I met with David to work on distraction work with my one year old Rottweiler. I’m an experienced dog owner but was looking for input and feedback on my training. David was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I’d recommend David for dog training and manners.

One word - Amazing! We contacted David to help with recall for our two 15 month old Golden Doodles. Every chance they could get to run out the door, they would, and there was no obeying recall. After the initial couple weeks of David playing with, getting to know and earning our dogs trust, he began the recall training. He was patient and explained everything to us as he worked with the dogs. He took time with each dog and always made sure their mental attitude was positive before leaving. Our dogs adore him. It's very obvious to us that David loves what he does and he has the dogs best interests at heart. We now have two completely obedient dogs that recall instantly. They are happy to be free and we are happy they can be.Thanks David!

David is incredible with our pups!! They love and respect him, they’re excited to see him each week, responding happily to everything we are working on. Having two high energy, intelligent boxer/poodles each with different needs, David easily reads their personalities and understands their innate behaviours. He teaches what to look for, explaining thoroughly. We feel enlightened and educated after each class, understanding the philosophy makes change easier to accomplish.David is a master canine behaviour specialist and trainer with incredible passion for his work. He gets high results quickly using FUN and toys as the motivator. We love this about David, every change we make occurs calmly, and with our pups having the best time ever, never realizing the work we are putting in. Yet quickly see results. We highly recommend David from puppy to adult, all breeds and all circumstances. When choosing David you’ll learn new positive ways to communicate with your pup.

David has been helping us with our 1.5 year old Bernese Mountain Shepherd! In just a few sessions our boy has learned so much and we see a huge difference! Especially on our walks where we were having the most issues. He is always excited to see David and very comfortable with him. David has a lot of knowledge and always explains the reasoning behind his training methods. He is patient and great to work with! We highly recommend!

David was wonderful with our dogs. We needed help with our rescue dog. After a couple visits, David realized that our little rescue dog was way to scared for David to get near. So he started working with our poodle. We hoped to go through our poodle to reassure our scared rescue. By our short lessons David got to get sniffed by our scared one. That is huge for him. Out of everything we needed our poodle picked up the word “ Bad” I can’t remember why David used “Bad” as it wasn’t a word in our everyday training. However saying “Bad” with hand held up like Stop! Our poodle stopped barking, so did our scared guy. With out David talking to us, helping train our little guys our house would still be in shambles.Thank you David.

My dog used to bite through his leashes on walks so I had to catch him, couldn't walk 100 m from another dog without him freaking out, and had zero recall. He also charged at random strangers on the street. After working with David Le Gal at Kw-K9 Training his recall is perfect and I can walk past any person or dog with confidence.

I brought Sima, my 5 year old German Shepherd to David after I was having trouble walking her on the leash, recalling and barking at the door. After three sessions, not only is she listening to everything I ask, now stops barking when asked, she also does it with more enthusiasm then ever before. I highly recommend David for any behavior issue you may have or for general obediance.

Hi - this will be long but worth the read.I have a two year old female Presa Canario. She is extremely close to the breed standard meaning - she’s confident, docile with family, a great guard dog, high prey drive etc - as well - she is VERY strange dog/animal aggressive. This was to be expected, as it’s very common in the breed. It started slowly - I used to walk her off leash in secluded areas - but other dogs were sometimes present. Dog bite one - a small ish dog charging me barking - my dog lunged and caught it by the neck just before it made it to me and held it down for about 3 seconds. (Dog not hurt just scared). That was Keera’s first taste for “fighting”,everything changed & I could immediately tell she loved it. (when I say fighting I don’t mean dog fighting at all, I do not condon dog fighting, I do not fight with my dog).Fast forward a bit, my dog is now lunging on leash at other dogs, barking , growling, lunging at some people (at night in the dark walking too close). She has become a complete menace taking her for walks. This is a 110 lb dog who will bite other dogs if they get close enough. But she is the PERFECT family dog , she is completely mentally sound, very lovable in the house with my senior Australian Shepard , 3 cats , and friends/ family who come over. She even has a few large dog friends who met her when she was a puppy who she considers family. So let me be clear , this isn’t a learned behaviour, a brain function issue, breeding issue - there is nothing wrong with her at all - these are her genetics which are stronger in some then others.I tried a local trainer- he was trying to use fear to suppress the behaviour, which obviously never worked.Trainer two - insisted her reactions were all “fear based” & that she did not trust me and we needed to build a stronger bond. Completely untrue, she trusts me completely & no one believed me when I said these reactions she was having aren’t “fear based” & she actually just wants/likes to fight - it’s in her breed. So I contacted my breeder looking for her opinions on trainers who could help me with her leash reactivity - she was basically uncontrollable if she saw a dog.She suggested David. I trust whatever she says so it was an immediate yes. But he was not local to me, so I had to board her at my breeders house & then David would work with her everyday. It was perfect. The initial timeline was 2 weeks. David was confident that he could change her reaction towards other dogs. He was clear that her wanting to fight & being strange animal aggressive was something that could not be changed but he could change her reaction & behaviours when she saw another dog. It sounded too good to be true ! He would update me on her progress & answer any questions I had. He always responded in a very timely manner, and I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in his care. I received photos & videos. He didn’t start training immediately, he needed to build a relationship with my dog first & he did just that. From the videos of her progression , I could tell my dog was happy and very engaged into what David was saying to her. He used toys as a training tool, which was great for my dog has she LOVES the tug toy. So he utilized her love for that play as a reward for showing good behaviour. She ended up staying for three weeks. He suggested it to further what she had been learning as it was taking a bit longer. I’m not a dog trainer by any means, but I do know my dog & I do know that she is VERY hard headed so honestly it wasn’t a surprise that he suggested one more week & I completely agreed. He’s the expert, so if he thinks one more week would be very beneficial, I agreed.Fast forward to now - my dog is completely changed. She has little to no reaction to passing dogs. Even if they are barking or growling. She is very alert still, but completely controlled. She looks for a treat every time she makes a good decision HERSELF. No ecollar buzz,no collar jerk, nothing. David taught her that her leash behaviours were unacceptable & now she is very calm.

David is an extremely knowledgeable, professional and practical trainer. He takes the time to get to know you and your dog’s needs, so that you can all work together to raise a happy, well trained, dog. My Australian Shepherd puppy can be a bit crazy, but David has helped me understand his personality and work with it - he is an expert in all dog breeds and takes an individualized approach to your dog. I should also add that he makes training FUN and my puppy always looks forward to our sessions. Thank you KW-K9!

I love working with David! He’s been helping train my puppy for a few months now and it’s going great! He’s very professional and my little guy gets so excited to see him! The progress my dog has made in only a few months is remarkable and I wouldn’t go with any other trainer than him, his knowledge and experience is immaculate as well. Prices are great especially for the service and knowledge you gain after a session, I love how he gets to know your dogs personality and always knows what’s best!
