Tana Ethiopian Cuisine

New favourite restaurant alert! I’m so impressed with Tana Ethiopian. We had the yebeg wot which is lamb chunks simmered in Tana sauce, seasoned with Ethiopian spices and clarified butter. Omg this dish is pure heaven. The veggie combo was brilliant also, miser wot was my favourite but the spinach, cabbage and bean dishes were all 100%. With soft, spongy, tangy injera to scoop up all the deliciousness with.Great value for how much food you get. Definitely recommend this place. Conveniently located across from famous foods so you can stop in if you’re going for groceries. My previous favourite Ethiopian restaurant in Vancouver was Axum, but Tana might have nudged them out of top spot.

We wanted to take our kids to try Ethiopian food and we weren’t disappointed. When we walked into the restaurant the delicious smell was all around. The lovely owner was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food was delicious and the portions a good size. Right as we were leaving a party of people came in to eat after us and it looks like they were regulars. Tana is the best Ethiopian restaurant and one of the best restaurants in Vancouver.

For a genuine lover of firfir, this place is heaven. I have been told quanta is made the habesha way hanging in the kitchen. It does tastes like it to. Thank you so much for the taste journey to home

My husband and I were excited to try Ethiopian cuisine and Tana did not disappoint! Wonderful flavours; the blends of spices are amazing in the array of different dishes to try. Atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Owner, so friendly and even helped us choose dishes to try. Put this place on your “must check out” list!!

My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place while looking for a cool new place to eat and we’re so glad we did! The environment was very welcoming and gave us a little taste of the Ethiopian culture. Our server was so kind and friendly and helped us pick the perfect meal for our first time trying Ethiopian food. We got the meat combo and the vegetable combo so we could try a little bit of everything and neither of us could really pick a favourite. It was all jammed-packed with flavour and satisfied our every foodie need. We will definitely be coming back to this place. Thanks for everything Tana! አመሰግናለሁ!

Our first time trying Ethiopian food and we had a great time! Food was flavourful and portions were great. The owner was very helpful in helping us to decide what to get as some of us were vegetarian. It was a late dinner, so we didn’t have any but we will definitely come back to try the coffee!

First time eating Ethiopian and I really loved it! Tana is a really friendly place, and the food was excellent! I will definitely come back.

I have been to a lot of Ethiopian restaurants but this one was not to my liking.Con: Rather expensive considering the food. The Injera was rather dry. The Doro wot chicken was rather dry and I was disappointed that it didn't come with an egg. The Minchet abish was lacking in flavour and spice.Pro: Great location. Easily accessible. Lots of seating. Really clean place.

Delicious food with tasty flavour, great portions, very good value. Server was very kind and attentive. Will definitely come back! Great place to eat delicious food and fill the belly for a great price.
