Top Notch Renovations

I contracted Top Notch Renovations to re-frame our basement after we had to gut it from water damage. Alex responded to the inquiry and provided a quote by looking at pictures I had sent him. When he came to complete the work, the quote ended up being adjusted up by a few hundred dollars and time to complete by an extra day. The work quality itself was good, he did a fine job with the framing and cleaned up all the sawdust and scraps when he was finished. My single recommendation is for Top Notch Renovations to provide in-person quotes so that you're not underestimating the cost or time to complete jobs, in another scenario the mis-calculation could have been a deal-breaker.

Do not get terrified of doing a renovation. Top Notch and Alex are skilled, honest, hard working, smart … can’t recommend more highly.

I had an amazing experience dealing with Alex and Bram on two exterior decks for my Maple home. The guys were building within a week of quoting and built us two very solid and stylish cedar decks. EXCELLENT WORK!!!! I hired Top Notch Renovations to build me a front and back deck, re-do our kitchen and bathroom and they did an absolutely phenomenal job. Had Top Notch remove old closets, move electrical outlets, repair drywall and flooring, and paint 3 different rooms to prep for some custom closet installation by a third party. They were prompt, efficient and congenial in all aspects of the work.

We hired Top Notch to completely renovate a house built in the early 1980s. That included demolition, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, all floors, all windows, all plumbing and electrical, heating and air conditioning, a wood burning fireplace, new staircase plus a new deck. Although we knew what we wanted, we definitely needed a good deal of professional advice and opinion every step of the way. Alex and his team were definitely the right choice for such a serious undertaking. The house turned out much better than we originally planned and major improvements to our plans were implemented at very reasonable costs.No doubt will ask Top Notch for a quote for any renovation in the future and with confidence recommend the company to anyone looking for a professional and responsible contractor.​

I hired Top Notch Renovations to turn my 1 + 1 condo into a 2 bedroom, complete with installing walls, moving electrical, relocating washer/dryer and plumbing. Alex worked with me on making a schedule that worked well for my timeline, the work was well done with nice clean finishes, and I now have a 2 bedroom condo. Alex even came in and fixed an issue that I had after the fact, that was caused by a building plumbing problem, which was very much appreciated. I will be hiring them again in the future.

I would recommend Top Notch Renovations any day. Alex and his team were incredibly professional. We had decided to remove a wall between my kitchen and dining room. The wall was a supporting wall. I needed to have full confidence that the team doing this knew what they were doing and would make sure the second floor of my house would not fall through and that the beams lined up with the basement beams. The project required supporting the upper floor and installing a large and heavy support beam. They were superb and managed the surprises along the way with fantastic problem solving skills. Our house is from the 1930's and you will never know what you get until you start taking it apart. I'm absolutely thrilled with the end result.
