It's a nice library with more room to study now. However, this is not a place for people to hang out and talk loudly, bring aromatic food, and litter. I am not saying this is detracting from a 5-star review for that reason; I am saying the people in charge do not enforce any rules. Why bother posting signs when people will disregard them? One minor complaint is the volume of the book-check-out sound which echoes throughout the library. Is there a better way to indicate you did a successful check-out? Probably; but then again, this is UTSC.

I have used the course reserves many times and have ALWAYS returned the books on time, but because the staff don't check the drop boxes regularly, I've gotten charged on multiple accounts. There are even times when there is no one is working the front desk. Insufficient study spaces during peak hours, bad lighting, and printers are always out of service.

Did you know? UTSC was originally set up with lecture rooms that contained - for that time - state of the art broadcasting equipment. The plan was to broadcast live lectures taking place in downtown campus to overflow students at SC -- thus more students could attend any one course - - they even had some rudimentary Mikes so you could transmit questions to prof. All of the original" buildings have that same cement moulded rooms and firms."

The best place for anyone to hang out at. This is more of a social place than anywhere else in the school. I mean, i've literally seen people gather here to chat, eat, and game. How is this a library if no one EVER enforces the rules of one?

I love this library. I have spent so many hours in it doing various school work. It huge and quiet. There many areas that accommodate students to sit and do work. I love to sit on lower floor, all the in the back by stack of books and rows of desk. Thats is where I will sit, work for 4-5 hours and eat. Thats when no one really bothers if I am eating or not. LOL. My secret spot to eat and work in the library.

For the third time, I've returned something and it still showed as checked out. If you return materials make them scan it right in front of you.

Good luck with whispered conversations, at least around 4pm when its populated. People seem to forget they are in a library and chatter quite loudly.

Students need to be more respectful of this space. This is a quite study area meaning, whispered conversation only. Other students are studying so please be respectful. Also if the chairs could be upgraded to adjustable ones, it would make a huge difference. I spend hours sitting here and the chairs are catered towards the shorter demographic.

It's more of social place than a library. Been going to this school for years and the library standards have not improved. There is no enforcement of any kind, such as; checking if you are a UofT student/T-card entry only like our other campuses thus flooded with commuter students from other schools. Moreover, it is so noisy and only quiet in the small silent study rooms which fill up quickly. If you are the type that cannot focus in a noisy environment then I would suggest going to a public library or the libraries at St. George.

Well sized library for students, relatively quiet depending on where you sit.
