Grizzly Bear Contracting

We just had the best experience with Grizzly Bear Contracting. Alex was fantastic to work with. He transformed our scuzzy unfinished basement in our 1880s house into the most amazing children’s playroom/rec room, cleaned up our utility/laundry room by putting in a ceiling/pot lights, adding cupboards, pantry and closet for functional storage, and replaced our stairs, making them safe for our kids to get up and down independently.Alex understood our vision better than we did. The finished product was far greater than we had ever imagined. His attention to detail is incredible. Living in an old house, nothing is square, everything is a bit wonky and nothing is as simple as one would hope. Alex had innovative, functional and artistic solutions for every challenge.We would recommend Alex’s work to anyone (and have to anyone who’s asked!). We will most certainly be calling on Grizzly Bear Contracting for all of our future projects!

Alex was great to collaborate with, always kept communication open, worked in a timely manner and provided an outstanding product. So happy how our wood cladded beam turned out.

We love our century home in downtown Guelph, but it can be hard to find contractors who know how to work with an older home. We hired Alex to remove the tongue and groove ceiling in our side porch, install insulation in the cavity above , and then reinstall the refurbished boards. Alex was meticulous, labeling each ceiling board as he removed it and then reassembling all the the pieces, complete with crown moulding, to look better than new. Before and after pictures below. He made it look easy, but I know it wasn't. I will definitely use Grizzly Bear again and would highly recommend Alex. Not only is he skilled, he's easy to work with and does what he says he's going to do, when he says he's going to do it.
