IMO, this is the best Chinese bakery store in Richmond, based on the overall quality in breads, cakes and confectionery.

I ordered a 8' custom birthday cake (41 cad) and even sent them an email how it should EXACTLY look like. It was like someone shoveled pounds of honeydew and cantaloupes and 1-2 pieces of strawberries.when I talked to the cashier lady she said It cost more". For god's sake I don't care how much it costs you had to do what I wanted. Overall

The last 2 mango cakes have been hits “out of the park”. Delicious and at a great price! (If you vip!)

Love this cute, little Asian cake shop.Good and interesting variety of buns, mochi, roll cakes, cakesContrary to what some reviewers said, we found the staff quite friendly and personable.Look forward to trying more of their mousse and mango cakes, to be able to offer a more informed review :)

The pastries were good and the environment is clean. The customer service was just not the best; the cashier was actually quite rude.

I have been a long time customer at Janice Cake shop, but today will be the last time I will be purchasing cakes from this shop. We bought a lychee rose mousse cake, but it was a disaster. The cake was beyond soaked and turned into mush, which caused the mousse part to collapse and lose its shape. Furthermore, as I was eating the cake, I felt something in my mouth. Turns out I was eating some sort of paper that was found underneath the cake part, which I suspect it is the parchment paper or some sort. I double checked and was not from the cake circle pad, as it was not soaked.I regret we did not inspect the cake prior to leaving the shop. However, we never think we need to do so as we never received any problems from this shop. For the price we paid, I do not think it is worth it. Please please inspect your cakes before leaving!

It's like a unique treasure hunt experience. *Hidden Gem Alert*, one has to try their Wolfberry Osmanthus Pudding!!!! Like whoa..... Wow! It's like a Michelin star dessert hidden in a trove of average to good baked goods. And they have other gem items too! They have these mochi....like....mounds... I have never seen anywhere else that are squishy... Soft.... And sticky....Their chicken bun is very tasty too (I'd give it a four star kinda thing, comparable to Kam Do Bakery or any consistently good typical Chinese bakery. They also have cute artistic desserts but I didn't try the other ones yet... They just look nice... So can't speak on that but man... That Wolfberry Osmanthus Pudding was wow with elegant vibes too. Lightly sweet, fragrant, gentle, cooling, and refreshing! Affordable prices and kind service too.

Great bread! Always fresh! This is where my parents consistently goes for their breads.

We have been buying from this shop for quite a few years. Lately like any other shops, the price has gone up (it was pricier than other shop before). What disappointed me the most in my recent visit there was a moon cake purchase. It's a very pricey moon cake (see photos). Thinking that my mother has asked me to buy one for her (she knows that she's not allowed to have too much moon cake, that's why she specifically asked me to purchase one only), I went ahead buying it from the shop. But the moon cake disappointed greatly. Not only that the moon cake it's overly sweet, she can taste that the content in the moon cake is stale. It tastes like rancid lard!!!

I order a 8 birthday cake in this shop and we found hair! hair! 2 times..... And that is a $35 cake. Come on do they wear hair net? In this case obviously they are not. The taste of the cake is OK
