Fly Fishing Bow River

What a great day - great people, great guiding, great teaching and learning, great scenery, great fishing and a great chocolate croissant!Dana was absolutely amazing, teaching a rookie fly fisherman all of the in’s and out’s to get success, as well as, teaching an experienced one many tricks to help better my technique.Dana truly conveys a relaxing vibe with great tunes and conversation. We laughed so hard many times throughout the day! He lived up to his slogan “Love People Catch Fish”!Massive acrobatic Rainbows and Browns - as soon as we hit the water!We will absolutely be booking another trip next year!

Dana and his crewe are some of the finest guides in the world, and this river is nothing short of exceptional! I've fished a lot of places in this world, but I keep coming back to The Bow time after time.

I cannot say enough about Dana, Tim and Troy. We had 3 boats on the water and EVERYONE had a blast. I have never had a fishing day like that in my life. Not only were the fish HUNGRY! but, the guides were amazing. New friends for life. They were very experience, provided excellent gear, patience and instruction. We had all levels of fishermen in our crew and the rookie is now HOOKED and is getting gear for Christmas! I won't float the bow with anyone else, these guys are excellent human beings who care about the water, the fish and sharing experiences with great people. Looking forward to my next trip!

Had a great day on the water with our guide Kynan. Having never fly fished before, we learned a lot about the different techniques, basic equipment and target species on the bow river. Kynan also connected with us after to send us some pics he was able to take, as well as provide recommendations for those looking to get into the sport. Excellent experience and highly recommend. These guys are exceptional. I’ve fly fished for the better part of four decades and have not seen a better guide than Troy. He’s dedicated to the craft of guiding, and it shows. It’s rare to find a guide who is at once meticulous and joyfully carefree; passionate and fishy, but even more interested in the people he is with. I fished with my 12-year-old son and for two days Troy diligently balanced teaching technique, drawing him out, staying on him, and always ensuring he had fun. And fun we had. I suppose I should mention the gorgeous scenery and big, beautiful trout we landed. But even though they are remarkable fish—breathtaking in their power, health, color, and abundance—the fishing was somehow secondary to the over all experience. We wanted for nothing (what more could one want than big fish sipping dries), and each day was wrapped in gratitude. Whether you have traveled the world with a fly rod, or are picking one up for the first time, Troy, the Bow River, and the team at Fly Fishing Bow River Outfitters are not to be missed. This was an amazing experience. Dana and Tim were our guides and they couldn't have been more knowledgable, patient and enjoyable during our eight hours on the river. Everybody caught memorable fish and learned a ton throughout the trip. At one point we stopped for lunch and noticed a fish raising. Tim rigged up a hopper/dropper rig for me to use to try and catch the fish. Dana was patient in teaching me how to cast to the spot I needed to get to and eventually I caught a really nice rainbow trout. Whether you are a rookie with no experience or if you have been on rivers your whole life, I guarantee Dana and his crew will give you a day on the river you will always remember. If you have been thinking about a guided river float, look no further than these guys.

Couldn't have had a better experience with Tim and Fly Fishing Bow River. I have fished with guides in Arkansas, Montana, Colorado, and Pennsylvania and I can say this was one of my best trips. Dana responded to every email, phone call, and text message quickly and professionally. Tim provided plenty of information before the trip, he was punctual, and professional. He knew the river well and worked hard to make sure we netted fish, which is not something you always get from your guide. My wife had fished some before, but she was able to catch fish all day, even catching the best brown. He brought a great lunch and treat for the end of the day. Tim was fun to talk to and clearly knows how to work the river. You won't be disappointed if you book a trip with these guys.

My brother came in from out of town and wanted to show him a good experience. Our guide Jordan did not disappoint. Great day on the water, lots of knowledge shared, caught nearly 10 fish. Would recommend any time.
