Essence Hair Studio

This brown kid cut my hair and charged 30$ for a bald cut and didn't do it correctly..worst place ever..used to be good in early 2000's ..if I go to a black barber shop I expect to be cut by a black man who knows how to cut properly..

Came to Canada for vacation and my brother needed to get his hair braided for a party that we came for and I called them up and Nicky made an appointment for me same day and it came out amazing she was very quick and very experienced highly recommend Nicky for when you come here to do your braids !!!!!!

This was a first ever haircut! My son is four and we wanted a fresh cut for his first day of school. When I searched for kids haircuts, Essence was one of the first results, and it's right across the street! We walked over and the place was buzzing. Every seat was occupied-a great sign! When I asked about walk-ins, I was told to have a seat. We only waited a few minutes and we were up! Rambo was our Barber and I showed him a picture of what I had in mind. Not only was he super talented, but he was very patient with my four year old. He took extra care, used different tools and techniques, all while treating my son like he was number one. My son was very comfortable here and I was at ease immediately. We have a favorite Barber now, and it's Essence hair Studio! Check out the before and after pictures-it wasn't easy to manage that head of hair but Rambo ROCKED it! ❤️

Experience was nice until today, I requested to do a certain haircut. The guy told me he understood (meanwhile he was talking with someone) cutting to the chase, he cut me the wrong way. The most impressive part is that I wanted him to explain me how do we do about the payment (yes, I paid because I wanted no issue) and he told me that I confused him and not to show him bulls**t (photos for reference) I think Im paying 35 bucks not only for a haircut, but also so you help me as a customer’s to identify what I want! Not telling me I’m showing you bulls**t. You just lost a client today.

Worst place for a hair cut!! I got a undercut by some kids at the shop, seems like he's still learning, charged 30$ and he cut my hair wrong! I been growing my hair for 2 years and an employee, distracted by TALKING, CHOPPED OFF HAIR HE WASNT SUPPOSED TO.!

The barbers in here are awesome there professional down to earth people my issue is Charmaine I will never forget I was 10 minutes late but based on her reaction it was as if I was a hour late one thing I don’t appreciate when a person acts as if there doing you a favour by doing your hair but I am paying you it’s a two way street after all her fuss after doing my hair she was chilling I have seen hair stylist who are truly busy doing 3-4 jobs at same time so for my 10 minutes of being late I over heard her complaining pure drama for what? It was not like after my job clients were waiting you were chilling and relaxing and after taking my braids out my hair had breakage that was my last time going there great shop great people but some people need to learn customer etiquette and communication skills

Much appreciated haircut!! Been coming to my barber Orrett for a few years now and he gets me right every time. Never disappoints. Real professional and real consistent. Amazing at what he does and I would Definitely would recommend.

Yesterday was the first time I went to this barbershop, and it will definitely be my last. Without any exaggeration, this barbershop must be avoided AT ALL COSTS. The environment in the shop is horrible, and the customer service is even more horrendous. My first experience at this shop was with the barber known as Shamar. During my haircut I was trying to communicate to the barber how I wanted my haircut done, how I usually have my hair done, etc. After communicating my preferences, Shamar gave me a foul and rude response. He said and I quote, “don’t tell me how to cut your hair”. I let Shamar know I only wanted the sides of my hair cut approximately 1 inch, yet he proceeded to pull out a large guard and cut the sides of my hair close to the 1” fade length. Out of respect, I did not say anything during this time other than letting him know kindly that typically during haircuts, clients explain to the barber how they desire their haircuts to be. His remark to me saying this was, Am I the barber or are you? You should go cut your own hair" However

Took my 5 year old son in for a haircut today. Andre was truly a hair specialist! We loved the care and patience he had with my son and the results were fantastic! Definitely will be returning.
