Hound Haven

This is an excellent place for any furry family member to stay at. We boarded our great dane here knowing he may be stressed in a kennel type atmosphere. The exceptional care he had was more then expected. Our big guy was outside enjoying their large fenced in space for the majority of his days . He had a pack of others he could play with plus he slept inside the home with his new pack friends. No stress only a happy Doggo & owners. Two thumbs up and four paws and waggy tail approved!!

Hound Haven is a lovely home away from home for our little Whiskey. Martha is kind and caring, and wow! The grounds are stunning. While I was sad to leave my little poop stick, I left knowing she had friends to play with and lots of room to run free. While away, I was comforted by the daily photos/videos Martha posted and on our return, we picked up a very pooped-out poop stick :) Thank you Martha, Whiskey will be back.

The first time I heard about Hound Haven, I had misheard the name as “Hound Heaven” …I think that name may be more accurate. I have no doubt your dog will love it here as much as ours does. Martha is a wonderful host, and is an exceptional caregiver.

A huge thank you to Hound Haven from Canon, Islay and the fam! They loved their vacation and came back more exhausted than we've ever seen them!! We enjoyed our human vacation knowing 100% that the pups were in good hands. And we loved getting to see regular pictures and videos of them having a great time with the rest of the pack!

Our 10 month old Whippet Obi-wan had a better vacation than we did. Martha and Ron were wonderful to our little guy. He came home exhausted but missing his pack. I highly recommend Hound Haven as a safe loving home away from home for your 4 legged loved one.

Nothing, but praise for Martha and her business. We came out to meet her and her dogs before leaving our whippet with her and we couldn't have had a clearer picture of her approach to boarding. This gave us the peace of mind that we needed to know that he was in a safe and fun environment in that time.Her extensive experience with sighthounds and professional approach to making sure each dog is attended to appropriately is invaluable.Despite being a bit out of the way for Toronto residents, this is the BEST place to board your dog if it is a sighthound. The fenced, sectioned, and well cared for grounds are probably one of the best places we've seen in Ontario for sighthounds to freely run, play and exercise safely.She sets a reasonable rate and also maintains a capacity that allows her to manage the quality of care that sets her business apart. Our boy came back clean, well fed, happy and fit!Martha's regular updates, online photos and prompt and direct communication provides assurance that all is well meanwhile giving you helpful feedback and information regarding the care your dog is receiving.Hats of to Hound Haven, if we lived a little closer we'd certainly take advantage of her services a little more often. We can be certain our pup is looking forward to his next visit too!

Where can I start, I guess first of all we are very lucky to have found Hound Haven! then to have met Martha Robertson, its owner, her beautiful home, garden and land she has to offer . We were going on holidays and we were concerned as to where to leave Jake our 10 year old shy whippet. We travelled from Toronto (2 Hours) to check her place, when we got there, I wanted to leave Jake already but we were leaving in two weeks! needless to say, we came back after two weeks and left him, He loved every minute for 24 days, I could see the great pictures Martha posted continuously, Jake running, jumping, playing and sleeping by the fireplace. A really royal treat for my lovely Jake. Will do it again soon, I highly recommend Hound Haven not only for its beauty, but also for the great knowledge that Martha has of these beautiful creatures. My Saluki just spent four weeks at Hound Haven, where he was wonderfully taken care of. The property is gorgeous and Martha sent so many great photos and videos to keep me updated on his vacation. He very clearly had the time of his life and Martha is great at managing all the different personalities under her roof. Atlas and I both highly recommend Hound Haven for fun doggie times, and for human peace of mind too :)

We feel so blessed to have found Hound Haven so close to home. We bring our pup Periwinkle to visit Martha's beautiful property every week for four hours. While there, Periwinkle is out running with her puppy pals pretty much all day while Martha controls the pack and documents the afternoon with her amazing photos which she posts on Facebook. Sometimes, Peri might even be able to squeeze in a complementary manicure. Once home, Peri snoozes...and snoozes, recovering from her very active day. We have noticed that with this consistent socialization with other sighthounds, Periwinkle has become more confident and more playful. I would recommend Hound Haven for overnight stays and for playdates. Thank you Martha for all you do!
