Lake George Family campground

Wow. Just wow. Called tonight for a site and was advised one full hookup available. Took my name for the site. When we arrived shortly thereafter (after having paid $45 cash) we were advised by a resident camper that someone had already pulled in that site this afternoon. He said that sometimes the older manager just lets people come in and doesn’t mark it in the book, and that the kids working there wouldn’t know.So the kid working came out and advised site was in fact taken and that there were no full hookups left. He stated we could ‘plug Into the canteen’ for $40 for the night, and that we could dump across the street for $20 (as opposed to the usual $25). Say what? This is the campground’s mistake and I’m going to have to pay $15 MORE than I would for a full hookup site?!I stated that I wanted my money back and was told that there are no refunds. I became upset and advised that this is not me backing out, but them selling something they didn’t have to sell! He then had to call someone to authorize the refund (which I eventually did get).Worst is, we busted a sway bar pulling into this place. Total terrible experience, very upsetting.

I love love love lake George! The beach area is perfect for kids....the campground could use a few update it's definitely not fancy but a true camping experience....we go every summer n will continue to do so!

Great spot. Swam here first 47 years ago. Nice peaceful location and calm water. Well run private park.

I wouldn't ever go here again the owner is a goof. Took our money said he has a spot then doesn't pay us back or give us a spot. Pretty shady operation here. I would tread carefully.

Very nice spot, at the right time of summer. Yes tenting spots are close together but as many tents as you can fit on a lot for 30.00 a night. 45 for full hook up lots. They sell itmes at the front office and fire wood 6.00 a pile, they will also deliver to your lot number. The lake is so beautiful and the water always warm. Ducks at shore always wanting to be fed. And so much more...

Very disappoint with this place. Not only is very over price, the owner very racist to me an my family, try to make more money, almost double price!

WHAT A JOKE!!!!! To start we called on Wednesday to book for 2 nights Friday and Saturday, we were told they had several sites available, so we booked. When we got there they had no reservation under our name. The 2 guys there told us they still had sites available and we were welcome to pick one that did not have a tent on it as they were available. We drove in and started to unpack on site 37.Then the guy tells us oh not that one someone has that booked already". There was broken glass all over the place

Have fun in the clear water and the clean sandy beach .

What a beautiful spot. Staff was friendly and the beach was nice!
