Thus is a review of trailhead area at Champlain Blvd, just north of Larch. The river is 50 m north. This is one trailhead entrance to River Parkway. A bike repair stand with tools is located at the gate. Path is a wide paved path at gate but varies in width and quality along path.In winter, this is an entrance to groomed cross-country skiing path of Ski Heritage East.It is unlit. It feels very safe. Many older women are comfortable walking alone here during day and dusk. There is little foot traffic during night but cycling commuters start very early. No swimming access in the park.No washroom. If Roy H Hobbes Senior Centre is open, it has washroom. It is located 100m from gate entrance on Larch at Champlain.Dress in light coloured clothes. Consider tucking pants into socks. This is a tick zone. There is lots of shade. Bug spray is recommended. There are 3 parking spots at gate. There is limited street parking available (zero easy parking when the 2 or 3 kids soccer fields are in use). There is a garbage can but no recycling or composting. The map is the winter groomed trail so it is not comprehensive for other seasons. This area is dog off leash and a major bike path. I recommend on leash for any dog which dislikes or loves cyclists.Dog socialization and play happens on soccer field. Please watch for wildlife and observe it from a distance. This area has lots of baby geese and even turtles in the spring. Foxes and coyotes are common too.

I come here often for jogging. This is a very beautiful park near the Ottawa river, with a very large ground and nice paved track for cycling and jogging. The tracks go in various directions, including Petri Island, downtown and the river. There is a small baseball ground as well, and also multiple soccer goal poles. Overall it's one of the best and we'll maintained parks in the city.

Needs more trees, sun is right in your face at game times (as an observer), bring sun screen.

We walk our dog along the river path that passes through this park going from Petrie island to downtown. It's a lovely spot to look out at the birds on the river.

Park on Ottawa river bank. Though there is not enough access to the river itself. There are located few soccer fields where I had a please to play this game. While playing I almost stepped into a frog. The fields can be very wet after rain in Spring. But still, beautiful views, fresh air, proximity of river make this park a very nice place for relaxation.

Nice park and reasonably quiet on a Monday evening...that said we are at the tail end of COVID-19 still...
