Pie Junkie

I like pie. When we plan to travel I often scan the internet for pie shops along the journey. Such was my introduction to Pie Junkie at Spruce Center in Calgary. Driving from Texas to a cabin near Lake Louise where we were going to spend a week, I called the Junkie several days before we were going to pass through Calgary and asked what kind of fresh fruit pies they could make. Among the responses, peach/apricot raised the curiosity of my wife's and my taste buds. After a lunch stop at a fantastic falafel joint in town, we picked up our pie and headed on to our Lake Louise cabin. Well my, my, my...what a pie! These Texans who've sampled many pies on our many journeys quickly agreed that this was among the best, okay... the very best pie we every had. Just the right amount of sweet and tart, no added sweetner flavor and little or no filler. We loved and savored every bite...so much so that we ordered another one to take on our return travels to enjoy at our next stop, a cabin just outside of Glacier National Park. Thank you Pie Junkie, when are you opening a store in San Antonio?

Best pies in Calgary, by far. We picked-up a tourtiere for Christmas Eve. It was moist and flavourful with a flaky, buttery crust. We’ve bought a number of pies from this location, both sweet and savoury. They are always top-notch. Highly recommend.

We got a wedding pie and mini pies for our autumn wedding in Golden. We had a great experience working with Pie Junkie. They made my vision come alive. I was so happy with how the florals turned out. Had pies from here a couple of times. Really glad they offer so many gluten free options. The pie fillings are amazing and a 5/5 but the crust is pretty rock hard. I know this is how they make them and one more thing I noticed was that the crust is also on a thicker side so you don’t get as much of the lovely filling. It’s down to personal preference…

Discovered this pie place through some friends who have been holding out on us! Lived in Calgary since Fall 2016 and only now just finding this gem! Crust perfectly crunchy. Filling amazing! And just look how pretty! Our favorites so far are the lemon meringue, key lime and banana toffee! This ain't no grocery store bakery pie, folks. Divine!

All I can say is good things about all the locations in Calgary. Their staff is absolutely the kindest people out there and very helpful. The other day I got a Keylime pie and A mixed nut mocha pie. Both are so amazing and beautifully decorated. I got the tiny pies, and they were just so freaking cute. I recommend so many people here. Perfect proportions.

I’ll never not have nice things to say about pie junkie. You truly just have to try them for yourself! They really do put love into their pies. They made us the most beautiful wedding pie, was almost too pretty to eat. Salted honey is DELICIOUS. I’m rambling at this point.

This is a special place with a huge variety of delicious pies. You will notice the attention to detail they have. Great presentation, clean and they have four locations in Calgary.

I have had a couple different pies from here and they are so delicious and they are so beautifully decorated. I can’t remember the names of the 2 that I have tried but they were both full of flavor and very decadent and enjoyable to eat and I'm sure all of them must be quality and tasty from how they look and the ones I have tried out. My children also really like the cookies from here. I want to try some of the savoury pies for our dinner soon as they also sound so good, to check out some of the flavors they have going on right now as the ones listed on their website look amazing and there's some classic flavours I'm excited to see their take on.

This review s based solely on the pies and not on the store or customer service as I have NOT visited their establishment. Is really to bad to hear that the customer service is poor according to a few reviews I read. But I will need to go and see it for myself.Anyhow! Here it is my review:-My family and I got the pies from our amazing realtor Toni Zihove for Valentine’s Day.The pies were great! Specially the blueberry and cream cheese (I believe that’s what I was! I know blueberries for sure but the filling Im not sure but it was cheesy and creamy ) I really like the crust flavour! I absolutely liked it.The chocolate raspberry was not too bad! Very rick cocoa which i liked as it was not overly sweet but very rich.The pure raspberry was not a favourite for us and I would probably not buy it myself. But the heart deco on it was cute.The apple pie lacked flavour and cinnamon for sure. It was dry and not sweet. I hope they change their recipe as their crust is delicious.They didn’t taste old or stale to us, unfortunate that a few people had that experience. Not sure why.Their mini pie presentation is beautiful! Truly cute and country style. Real flowers and fruits. Loved them. I’m definitely will be coming to the shop to get a couple and also see how their customer service is.I loved the pies. Good job.
