The receptionist and podiatrists have been SO helpful! I’ve received excellent care!

STAY AWAY!! (Especially if you are Black or a POC)I wish I could share the sentiments of others who had such excellent care by this clinic. However I wasn’t even able to make it over the threshold of their front doors before being racially profiled and made to feel so unwelcome I decided to leave.I was referred to this clinic earlier that day and decided to walk over to book an appointment as I was in the area. I was “greeted”, and I use this term very loosely, by an older women behind the desk. Upon opening the door to enter she looked at me with a confused and unfriendly look on her face. I thought they were maybe closed or I had the wrong establishment, so I inquired if I was in fact at the Foot Clinic. She stated I was, and proceeded to rudely inform me that patients were seen by appointment only. I decided to ignore her demeanor and chalk it up to a rough day and I informed her this is why I was there. She seemed to relax and so prepared to push my baby stroller and myself through the doors. As my back was turned, trying to hold the door open and get myself and stroller through, this woman proceeds to yell from across her desk “you know these services are not covered by OHIP”! So many thoughts…so many feelings. I knew very clearly now this business would never value me as a customer/patient. I decided the best thing to do was just leave. I pushed my stroller forward and proceeded to walk down the sidewalk. She proceeded to call out to me over her desk and even ran out after me asking “have I said something to offend you?” - she clearly knew she had!I have encountered crotchety medical receptionists before, however this woman was more than that. This was someone who decided that based on my appearance (a black woman pushing a baby in a stroller), I would not be able to afford the services offered at this clinic, unless they were covered by OHIP.She claims her actions were a result of direction from the Dr. who has asked her to advise patients that services are not covered. Whether or not this is true, there is a way to inform customers/patients of how payment is made AND THIS WAS SOOOOOOOO NOT IT!!!! Had I been a white man or woman would she have made the same choices??….I think not. I am well aware that these services are not covered and have been seeing a Podiatrist for years, however had been looking for a new clinic closer to home since moving to the Whitby area. THIS CLINIC IS DEFINITELY NOT IT!!!!

I just visited the Whitby Family Footcare Clinic for the first time this afternoon at the suggestion of a colleague. I've been seeing a different chiropodist for a few months but haven't been getting anywhere, and went to Whitby Family Footcare for a consultation/2nd opinion. Right away I could tell this was a much better fit for me - the receptionist was warm and friendly and the doctor was knowledgeable and very eager to help! Will be going here for all my needs from now on! 10/10 would highly recommend

Whitby Family Footcare Clinic is absolutely amazing. It is such a welcoming environment, from the second you step foot in the doors! All staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable - I absolutely will be back. Keep up the great work!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! Peter Guy was recommended by a few doctors and colleagues - and I can see why! Peter and his staff were friendly and professional. Plus my toe that was swollen and in tremendous pain was attended to and healed almost immediately relieving a lot of discomfort. As I write this review now, I cannot believe I did not go see Peter sooner. To think that I endured this pain and discomfort for 2 months thinking that the swelling would just naturally go away without seeing a Specialist…all I had to do was pick up the phone and book Peter. Overall if you live in Durham or Toronto or the GTA this is a Chiropodist I would highly recommend to family and friends. Very happy with the service and results.

I have been having foot problems for years and in the same period of time I had been wearing orthotics. I still couldn’t walk for any extended periods of time, play golf or tennis. I was constantly in excruciating pain. I decided to try another clinic to get a second opinion after all these years. I met with Peter Guy at Whitby Family Footcare in 2019. Well the rest is hIstory. Peter was able to assess my problem and fitted be With new orthotics. He also gave me an exercise regime to help strengthen my feet. With His guidance and expertise, within a few months I was able to walk for longer periods of time with no pain. Peter I can’t even put into words how much you have helped me overcome all the pain I was having for years. Thank you so much.

Whitby Family Footcare Clinic is AMAZING! They’re so knowledgeable, and took their time assessing me. They went through a lengthy discussion with me surrounding the best steps (pun intended) moving forward, and how best to help correct the problems I was having (demonstrating many exercises as well). I feel confident that I received the best care possible with the most up to date information.Plus, they were so kind and personable.I highly recommend this wonderful clinic!

Such a great clinic! I was treated by Alyssa Guy who knew exactly what the problem was and provided the best treatment solution, for the quickest results! I definitely got the best care and the staff are all extremely nice!I would definitely go back if need be and would 100% recommend!!
