Lucid Tattoos

I had Lindsay from lucid tattoos do three Haida Gwaii art pieces for me. She did an amazing job, the shop was really clean and has a super chill atmosphere. If you’re looking for a high quality tattoo artist then look no further!

This place (Lindsay Joseph) keeps deleting bad reviews because she is a scamming c.u.next.tuesday. there is no such thing as a design fee. And you should always get your deposit back if you give ample notice. Also, make sure everything you discuss is on paper, never over the phone.

I am incredibly disappointed with my experience with Lindsay, and I caution anyone from using her as their tattoo artist. I paid for and booked my $140 consultation in mid-June 2022 during which we discussed the inspo photos I sent her for the design of a large custom floral tattoo. We went over each image and talked about what I liked about them, what the plan was, and that it would take 2 full day sessions to complete. Lindsay then booked me in for her earliest available appt which was March 2023 after I sent her the $850 deposit. This appt was then changed several times by her and we eventually got together January 20, 2023. During the initial consultation I was told I would be able to view the design a few days prior to the appt, so we could make any changes I wanted. Lindsay sent me the tattoo at 10:30pm the night before my appt which I didn’t see until the day of, leaving me very little time to review it. It looked almost identical to a flash tattoo she posted on her Facebook in November 2022, with minor changes made to the surrounding leaves. This bothered me as I was paying for a custom tattoo design, and I feel the price I was quoted ($4000) reflected this.I arrived at the studio at our scheduled time and had to stand outside in the cold for over 30 minutes waiting for Lindsay to show up. I had $2000 in cash in my purse (as she required only cash as stated in her email) which made me uncomfortable standing on a busy sidewalk outside of a locked building hoping no passers by knew about her cash only rule. After Lindsay showed up, I tried discussing changes to the design with her which she was really defensive about. This was really discouraging for me and we ended up barely altering the original design at all. We also talked about how the shading would look like (which we originally discussed in the consultation appt) and she told me she couldn’t shade the flowers in a realistic way but rather with line work. When I tried finding pictures for examples of what I wanted she again became very defensive saying it wasn’t possible to make them look realistic. I was then charged for a full day’s appt ($1921), although I was only inside the studio between 10am-2:45pm, and the actual tattoo was between 11:15am-2:30.Then on January 29, Lindsay emailed me stating it would take 2 more sessions to complete the tattoo as the outlining takes half as long as the shading. Therefore, the price of the tattoo would then increase by 30% more than I was quoted, even though the outlining only took her around 3 hrs. At this point I knew I wouldn’t have the funds to continue the tattoo as I had only saved enough for 2 appts and I had had to pay an expensive mechanic bill the week before. I emailed Lindsay telling her this and asking for $850 deposit back as I couldn’t afford to continue at this time. She refused to give me my deposit back, even though I had already paid for my first appt in full and was cancelling my second appt with 3 months’ notice. She still refused to return my money despite her understanding the circumstances for me needing it back. I am shocked at how she treats her customers who have already invested their time and money into her business. I will obviously not be returning to finish my tattoo and I hope this acts as a warning for anyone else considering booking a tattoo with her in the future.

I always have such an amazing time at Lucid tattoos and always leave happy with my new artwork. I can’t wait to go back and get more work done on my new tattoo. I’m so excited I absolutely love what was designed for me. Thanks so much Lucid tattoos! Highly recommend to those looking for a talented artist.

In the last year I’ve had two tattoos done by Lindsay. To say she exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Both of these pieces were really meaningful to me, she listen to the elements that were important for me to have and designed tattoos that not only fit my body and the location I was looking to have them done, but were absolutely beautiful. I spent a lot of time with Lindsay getting these tattoos done, she was personable, professional and honestly just easy to hang with. Both my tattoos are complete now and have healed/is healing perfectly. I could not be happier with the tattoos she created, I could honestly just sit and stare at them all day. I would highly recommend this studio and artist to anyone who is looking to get tattooed. You won’t be disappointed!

Had a fantastic experience with Lindsay, from design to actual tattoo. The studio is clean and welcoming, and I don't mind saying that softer music and a zero-stress environment made this a truly wonderful happening. Lindsay is patient and very talented and I am still giddy over the work she did. I can't say enough good about it!

Lindsay wanted to charge me $185 consultation fee, $1000 design fee, $5000 appointment fee and the tattoo would have been an additional $7000. All for a spider web tattoo on my arm.

Great place to get a tattoo! Lindsay did such a beautiful job on my tattoo would highly recommend her. Felt welcomed by her, her team and the studio is clean and beautiful.

I've gotten way better tattoos for far less in Michigan than what Lindsay charges, and my initial consultation, drawing, and tattoo sessions were all incl in 1. This woman is a joke and I think paying 1500 for a 20min meeting is ridiculous. Then to go against certain wishes for style, shadowing or even colors and doing your own color style" on someone else makes me hate meeting you."

Lucid tattoos is the best place to get a tatt. She does absolutely beautiful work. Check out her pics. They are amazing! She uses lots of colour and her work is thoughtful and well planned out. Keep doing what you’re doing!! ♥️
