My child was in Webber for years, starting in the very early grade. But we chose to leave and go to a better school. This school looks perfect on the surface, just like what you see with your eyes, but inside, it's not. If you have watched their winter concert, you can feel that they are trying to show everything perfectly, tightly and meticulously, but the children have no emotional involvement and they are not happy. I pick up my child every afternoon at the front door of main building, I see all children coming out from building, they are not in a healthy and happy mood most of the time. This is probably the style of this school, requiring uniformity, but never let the children be themselves. School teachers have changed a lot. They have always claimed that their teaching should be ahead of other schools, but their teachers do not have the ability to do so. They rank high in the exam because of the tutoring arranged by parents for their children after school. a large part of the children go to extracurricular tutoring classes after school. So believe me, good grades come from extracurricular tutoring classes, not from that school. The school’s leadership looks kind and polite, but is actually very cold and rude. This school is more like a running company, all for money. And I believe that there is racial discrimination here, but it is not obvious. So you can see some people say that school is good because they have been treated differently. Once I worked as a volunteer to help the teacher complete the art work on the corridor wall. I saw children who had made mistakes were asked to line up and squat down in the corner of the corridor. They are treated like criminals. I don't think that humiliating children in this way can make them be better children. Humiliation education is the best manifestation of a teacher's inability to educate. So what else do I need to say, a school without love and care.

Webber Academy has been the best school for my three daughters. We moved to Calgary over three years ago and our daughters have attended the school ever since. The school was just what we were looking for with regards to academics. After moving from Europe, we loved that the school provided specialty teachers for many of the subjects like music, PE, Spanish and Mandarin, because we didn't have that option before. They have all enjoyed participating in extra-curricular activities that happen during lunch recess or after school. My girls are so happy with the school and they wouldn't change a thing. I have been pleased with all the teachers and they all have been easy to contact and keep in communication if there are any questions or concerns. I find the teachers always answer emails quickly and I have never had problems scheduling a meeting with them. The administration and staff are always friendly and helpful when I've had questions. I love that many of the staff and the administration know the many of the students names from the Kindercentre all the way up to Grade 12. My daughters are in elementary school now, but I'm happy they will be at Webber Academy through Grade 12. I find the older students, as well as the younger students, are polite and they have great pride and satisfaction in their work and school. We are so pleased that our daughters attend Webber Academy and we can't think of a better school!

For many times I said hi to the facility manager, but he ignored me and never looked at me. Asked other people, same experience. I hope the school can find a new facility manager.

Money thirsty school. Administration does not care for students and will get people in trouble for the most ridiculous reasons. Staff will focus more on uniform rather than education. Everything overpriced. No help for students with learning disabilities. Overall, don't send your child to Webber, there are much better schools in Calgary.

Whatever impression you may get from the ranking of this school, it's first and foremost a school for spoiled brats with rich parents, not a school for academically gifted children.I'd have still won the 2015 Apps for Alberta competition, and be a top 1% contributor to Stack Overflow if I hadn't wasted two years of my life going here.

So I attended this school for four years before switching to a much better school, and I've got to say, my experience here was... well, a nice way to put it is 'not the best'. All the staff cares about is how the students present themselves, if their tie is straight, if their shirts are tucked in, etc etc. When lining up to exit the cafeteria (which I may add, is completely unnecessary), the teachers/lunch supervisors would go out of their way, take a student out of the so called 'lunch line', and make them tuck in their shirt. I, for one, find this exceptionally unreasonable and honestly, really useless. To add onto the unnecessary rules that Webber Academy has, they force you to line up single file when going down the stairs. I know this is proper respect, but one time, when I wasn't, a teacher pulled me out of my class and lectured me, for around 30 minutes, about the issue. I cried, of course, since I was young, but that just... scarred me. What kind of school lectures you about not walking single file down the stairs? Although Webber was an unreasonable school, the students there were polite and respectful. However, it was almost like everyone was robots; we had to act a certain way, behave a certain way, and dress a certain way. On Mondays, girls were forced to wear dresses, even in the extremely hot weather, while men had to wear a button up shirt. However, for the rest of the week, students could wear their regular uniforms. Some of the teachers are extremely disrespectful towards students, and sometimes would yell at them. The students have no power of freedom to do what they want. Sure, some teachers are nice, but most of them go out of their way to lecture their students or make them feel bad about themselves. To everyone reading this, save yourselves a few 20,000 dollars a year and not go here. However, this is your choice, but I strongly recommend not to. You'll just be wasting your time.

Not a school for everyone if you want your kids to be happy, feel in love at school, develop healthy personality not have a mental issue later and only focus on studying instead, at least this classroom. My son told me teacher didn't like him anymore, as a parent, this is really heart breaking, and I never heard this before.Enrolled in JK for just a month and they found out not a desired kid they like (interviewed us twice), so was suggested" to withdraw in a week after the meeting with head of elementary

Went here for 13 years, I am only speaking of my own personal experiences. There is a “grades and academia are crucial to life” culture, but that is to be expected from a university preparatory school. Attending this school, I learned a lot more than the average student and was able to do things I would not have been able to do in public school. The teachers, over the years, have been a bit hit or miss.. but the good teachers are truly great and care about the students a lot. The language programs are amazing and if you’re good at sports, there’s lots of opportunities. I would have appreciated more mental health and well-being supports from the school - especially considering how high stress the environment is. Overall, I’m grateful for my experiences here.
