Forward dog training

Thanks to Coralie and her magic, Wallace is now the best dog in the world. Taking our 'ready for a good time' Doberman for a walk was a chore, but now, it's a pleasure. Same with being chill in the house when he needs to be. Interesting part is that no matter how much exercise Wallace got, he'd be ready for more in 15 minutes. Training works his brain that puts him in a calm, sleepy mode.

For the past 6 months we have been trying everything possible to stop our puppy's barking when we left him alone. Trainers, desensitization, positive reinforcement, treats, exercise etc and nothing was working. There is a lot of false information out there about this problem and frankly most of it is not realistic for people who work everyday. We were at the end of the line. Coralie went above and beyond to help us with this issue. She kindly spent 3 straight days with him and he returned a different dog. We are very thankful and can now leave the apartment without fear of noise complaints. Her training worked for us when nothing else did !

Coralie took the time to really talk to us about our beautiful dog's fearfulness and about her techniques and philosophy and encouraged us to do the deep thinking and ongoing homework that's needed in order to help our beloved dog. The training and tools have been invaluable to us as a family. While our dog will always be a bit fearful, Coralie gave us the tools to help him and us unlock the world of things like enjoyable walks and stress free visits among others. We'll always be grateful.

Our decision to hire Coralie to work with our dog, Boston, was the best decision we could have made. We hired Coralie to come for private sessions and we are thrilled with the results. I can be an anxious person with lots of questions. Coralie made me feel so comfortable and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. She is calm, patient and positive. We had a list of goals and we accomplished all of them! She even took us to a store to help Boston learn how to walk calmly in public, busy places. We now have a sweet dog who likes to cuddle, play, and even listens to us. Boston also had terrible trouble riding in a car. Somehow, she used her magic and he no longer has car anxiety. Coralie has provided our family and our dogs a new lease on life together. Our one dog has anxiety and reactivity and due to this our world with her had gotten very small. We were constantly afraid of her reacting to our other dog and juggling the dogs around each other. We were driving to industrial neighbourhoods on off hours just to be able to take her for a walk. She was barking and chasing anything that moved including cars, bikes, people, dogs, birds, etc. We had worked with NUMEROUS trainers in the past but were confused, frustrated and not making progress. Our second dog is a well adjusted rescue who needed some guidance and obedience to live her best life.After extensive research we found Coralie and Forward Dog Training. She came up with a plan to best fit our family and goals. There was no pressure to work with her and we could tell she had the dogs best interest at heart throughout the entire process! After our 4 week board and train and 1 week with the rescue we were shocked with the progress and VERY nervous to continue to work at home. Coralie was extremely patient and understanding. She taught us exactly how to continue the progress and has been an amazing support system along the way.We now get compliments on how calm and well behaved our dogs are! Something I never thought would happen. They are so calm in the house yet haven't lost their spunky goofy personalities!It truly was a pleasure to work with Coralie and are now hopeful and excited for the adventures ahead of us with our two awesome dogs! We were really hesitant to do e collar training, and with this hesitation came many questions for Coralie. She was so patient and kind with all of her explanations. She really made us feel at ease with leaving our dog (family member) with her for 3 weeks. Anytime we sent a text or missed our girl, she was great about getting back to us with her progress. One of the main things we were looking for in a dog trainer was someone who sincerely was an animal lover, and it wouldn't just be a business transaction. Coralie was just that, and she was as excited about our dogs progress as we were. The outcome: our dog is a completely different dog in terms of her anxiety. We are able to bring her outside and play fetch off leash without her being worried about city noises. She is fully listening to all of our commands. We are so appreciative for what Coralie has accomplished with our dog, and cannot say thank you enough.

Coralie has an amazing way both with dogs and their owners. She gave us hope, encouragement and a dog that now behaves better than we thought would be possible.Our dog Tofu was in a constant state of anxiety and restlessness before training. She resource guarded her food, toys and bed, pulled like crazy towards every moving thing on a walk, and retaliated any time we told her to do something she didn’t want to. She had to spend more and more time being muzzled and 24/7 leashed for our own safety. At 6 months old, we were afraid of her and we needed a hard reset on our lives together.Coralie had Tofu for a 1 month board and train in October 2019, where she taught her (and us!) everything she needed to be calm, collected and well behaved both at home and on the walk. She taught Tofu a long list of solid commands such as place, heel, out, come, crate, with down-stay and sit-stay, and respecting thresholds. She also helped us to re-build our relationship to be so much better than I actually thought was possible.6+ months later, we’re still keeping up the training and seeing even better levels of calmness with significantly less issues than in the past. I would absolutely recommend Coralie for behaviour modification as well as for basic manners training.

We had an awesome experience with Forward Dog Training! My boyfriend and I were experiencing very intense behavioural problems with our Great Pyrenees mix. At one years old, we were experiencing severe aggression stemming from resource guarding and not wanting to be told what to do.He may have had a loving side to him, however his unpredictable attacking was making it very difficult to live with him.We tried positive reinforcement training with other training facilities, working with him hours on end, we also tried medicating him. We spoke to what felt like hundreds of trainers, all giving us false hope, or saying we should put him down.Duke was not responding to any of the training we have tried to that point, we felt like we had no other options other than to put him down. We were heart broken! We stumbled across Forward dog training and something about her story resonated with us. We did not know much about e-collar training, and the little we did know was all negative. We gave her a call, and we stressed to her our concerns.Coralie took the time to listen to us, to truly understand our relationship with duke, and how he responds to certain situations. She assessed our dog herself, to ensure this program would be right for him, and for us as his owners.I can’t stress enough how much of a positive experience we had. She is very knowledgeable, and compassionate. What sets Coralie apart from other trainers, is that she actually truly cares about the success and wellbeing of your pet.Coralie took the time to ensure that we were trained as owners, so we could hit the ground running when our dog came back to home with us. Our dog's behaviour has significantly improved. We anticipated that the training would work, however not to this degree.Our dogs biggest achievement is going into his crate on command, without trying to attack us. Once he is in the grate, he is calm, relaxed and does not show signs of being anxious.We were warned by loved ones that our dog wouldn't respond to us because he was trained by a different person, in a different environment. That was not the case at all! Coralie taught us what we need to know to be successful at home - he respects us the same as he did with her during training.We still have a long road to go, however Coralie provided us with the tools and knowledge to live in harmony with our beloved pup! My dog Gord (a doberman) and I recently had our first one-on-one session with Coralie and I already would highly recommend working with her for any training needs. Beginner dog owner wanting to build a good foundation or experienced in need of extra support and guidance.I've been doing a lot of work with my dog on training and made a lot of progress. We had already implemented a great deal of structure that is often the first step in a good training plan. I was already proud of how far we had come but have still been struggling/stuck with issues surrounding leash reactivity to other dogs. Having a more challenging breed definitely has played a part. I was ready to try ecollar training but nervous to use it improperly and wanted guidance around this. I knew my dog and I had done a lot and it showed in other aspects of his behaviour, but there were missing pieces that I needed help from a professional with.I had met with another trainer previously who not only were we not making progress with after multiple sessions but it was just an awful experience. It felt like they were applying a one size fits all approach. They were highly condescending, didn't take the time to listen to the details and nuances of my dog, and really didn't pay attention to the work my dog and I were already doing. They also didn't take the time to teach me with the ecollar so much as just rush forward with it. I realised afterwards that they had made me quite uncomfortable and this stress definitely rubbed off on Gord. Calm handler = calm dog, anxious handler = anxious dogThis prompted me to reach out to Coralie in hopes of finding a trainer that would be more helpful and respectful.We first spoke on the phone to discuss my dog's specific needs and what steps I had already taken with him. Coralie was a pleasure to speak with and really took the time to listen and evaluate our specific situation. This lead to us scheduling our first one-on-one session in person.When my dog and I met with Coralie for our first session I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She was so pleasant to interact with, respectful, paid attention to the specifics of my dog and our situation, and actually listened. This not only made the session more fun and enjoyable, but meant the advice she shared was invaluable and actually specific to the needs of my dog and I. I am already seeing immense progress with my dog's reactivity after this first session. Coralie was able to identify the gaps and nuances in the work I was doing almost immediately (without it being condescending and belittling) and the results blew me away. 2 weeks ago before I met with Coralie Gord would react to a calm dog across the street, this week we have been able to walk in a busy area with people and other dogs with almost no reactivity. I am already looking forward to our next session with Coralie and continuing our progress.
